Underestimated Heiress

CHAPTER 8 - You Got it!

Next day at 6 AM, Jess got ready for a run. She started her day with a quick workout, this was a habit since she was 10 years old. After work out she got ready for her day as planned. She was someone who liked to plan things in advance, this avoided any chance of error and gave her enough time to finish her tasks in time.

After coming back from the run, Jess was stopped by her mother near the mudroom, "Jess, please come in my room after breakfast I need to talk to you about something.",her mom said to Jess. Jess nodded and rushed to her room for a shower. She was supposed to dress up as requested by her mom, which will take some extra time, so she didn't have any time to waste.

Jess chose an easiest outfit, high waist blue denim pants with narrow bottom and a white crop full sleeves blouse with frill at the bottom, sleeves puffed on the shoulder and tight on the wrist, but loose on the arms, loose frill on the neck and buttons from top to end in front giving a proper fitting to the blouse making it look perfect, neither too tight nor too loose. She tied her curly hair with the front half tied in a pony and the other half left open to fall on her shoulders and back. Her hair was light brown in color which looked perfect on her extra fair skin. She wore eyeliner, mascara and a bit of light lipstick. She opened her shoe cabinet and was very annoyed, all her sandals looked very uncomfortable, but she will have to wear them. She chose the white pair with normal heels, it went with her outfit. She looked beautiful, anyone could assume that she was a model. Her mother had taught her these basic things to dress up, that's all she knew.

When she was done, she picked up her phone and went downstairs for breakfast. They had breakfast in the sunroom facing the farm. She assumed that her mom and dad must have finished their breakfast and Ethan must be still sleeping, so she thought she would quickly carry something in a napkin with a glass of juice, while she checks her emails and messages. But when she entered the room, she saw her mom, dad and her brother eating breakfast. She was feeling shy because she was dressed in a way no one would expect, so she wanted to quickly get away from there but she was starving. Luckily all of them were facing the farm and didn't hear her come in, they were busy discussing something, this was Jess's opportunity to quickly grab something and run away otherwise Ethan will have an amazing holiday teasing her. But little did she know, they were actually waiting for her, as soon as they heard her heels and confident footsteps they quickly went to the other end of the room and pretended to discuss something important. It was an unlucky day for Jess, as not just Ethan but her mom and dad will also be teasing her during this holiday.

Jess tiptoed into the room, grabbed a sandwich on a tissue and was about to leave when her mom called her "Jess". Jess had her back towards them so she prayed that she was only hearing things, so she turned around and saw all three of them looking at her both shocked and surprised. They were in awe of her beauty, she looked like a beautiful young lady. Her father's heart skipped a bit, he couldn't imagine that his princess had grown into such a beautiful young woman. Her brother didn't understand how to tease her elder sister, she looked beautiful, he started thinking of all the martial arts techniques he learnt last year and thought he should immediately start brushing up on his skills. Her mother was proud and emotional, her daughter reminded her of herself when she was her age. Her mother thought she did a good job raising her daughter. Jess was surprised, she was expecting them to pass comments instead there was a silence in the room. They were all standing and staring at Jess as if there was mud on her face. Instinctively Jess started moving her hands across her face to check if she had something on it, she asked, "is there something on my face? Did I smudge my eyeliner? I swear I will never wear eyeliner again if it's smudged." That was when her mom, dad and her brother said in a low voice, "you look beautiful".

"Did you guys discuss how to tease me and use the same actions and lines to do that?"Jess asked, a little annoyed.

Her mother walked towards her and said, "my dear, I didn't know that my daughter looked so beautiful." Jess realized that her parents and brother were not teasing her but she still felt a bit uncomfortable.
