It was a busy few days for Jess, she worked tirelessly without taking a break. Today, she was leaving for the camp. She packed her bag and got ready in regular clothes, she tied her hair in a bun, put on her sports shoes and went downstairs, her mom, dad and Ethan were waiting for her in the foyer. She saw the disappointed look on her mom's face and joked, "It's ok mom, I only have freedom to dress like that for 2 days, after that I will be back in the outfits bought by you.", everyone laughed. The mood was lightened, she hugged everyone and sat in the car, she asked her driver to take her to Colin's house.

She had already discussed this with Colin, she would meet him at his house and they would go together to the camp, that would give them enough time to discuss and plan the activities. They were half way through, Jess was reading and sorting some materials for the activities, when she noticed her driver was driving faster than usual. He looked stressed and was constantly peeking through the rear view mirror, Jess followed his gaze and saw a black suv. The driver of the black suv was driving rashly, and trying to overtake them, Jess said to the driver, "Let them go uncle, looks like they are in a rush. There is no point in risking our lives for someone else."

"That's not it, miss Jess. They are not just trying to overtake us, they are trying to stop us.", the driver explained.

Jess was shocked, she asked,"Why do they want to stop us? Do you know them?"

"I have seen that suv before, they have tried this multiple times. I mentioned this to the boss and he suspects that they want to kidnap you. I am trying to buy some time, until your bodyguards take control of the situation. The boss plans to capture them this time and find the culprit and his motive." the driver replied.

At that moment, Jess's phone rang, she answered with a distraught voice,"Dad." Eric understood that Jess was scared, he said, "Don't worry dear, they are stuck in our trap now, they will be captured in no time." Jess was quiet and still trying to process the information. Eric continued, "I have been planning to capture them, now that you are going for a camp, I didn't want to take the risk so I set the trap. But just to be sure that no one else was following them, I have a plan and I want you to follow it." Jess nodded still in shock, Eric took her silence for affirmation and continued, "There is another car waiting in the next town, the driver will take you there. You have to get in that car which will drop you near Colin's house. There will be another group of bodyguards waiting near the location, you won't be able to see them but they will remain close. You can walk to Colin's house and go with him to camp. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to defend yourself, always trust your instincts. If you need anything, you can let the bodyguards know and they will help you."

"Dad, did I always have security around me? It sounds like these people have tried to kidnap me multiple times and lucky me that they didn't succeed. Why dad, what could they possibly want from me?" Jess asked, concerned.

"Don't worry about it, just focus on your camp and I have a feeling it won't be easy, those rich brats might make things difficult for a poor farmer's daughter. Now that Colin knows your secret, you can ask for his help. He is a reliable and smart guy, that's why I let him into our house. And always remember to trust your instincts.", Eric said and disconnected the call after saying bye.

Jess's dad was successful in diverting Jess's attention back to her camp. Meanwhile, the black suv had disappeared when she was busy talking to her dad. She said to the driver, "uncle please do as dad instructed".

"Yes Miss", the driver replied.

When the driver dropped Jess at an agreed location, Jess was a bit hesitant to walk out of the car, but she acted brave and got out of the car, she scanned her surroundings to make sure that no one had followed her here. She then tried to find the bodyguards that her dad had mentioned but as expected she couldn't see them. She thought to herself, "it was no use being paranoid, let's trust dad and focus on camp. If something were to happen, then I am trained in self defense and I might not be capable enough to defeat them but I can still buy sometime.", she took a deep breath and walked towards Colin's house.
