"Well he's not tryna tell us who did it." Aaron took a bite of his waffle. "And we were hoping maybe you could tell us who, pretty girl." Tashi looks at Y/n charmingly with the spatula in his hand, watching as she cut her fruit. "Ace did it. We were out eating last night and the waitress brung some cheesecake with a note that said we should meet him in the alleyway." Y/n answered before taking a bit of her dragon fruit.

"And y'all went??" Tashi's browsed raised. "Dumb ass kids." Aaron mumbled. "What? We just supposed to carry on with dinner like the nigga—guy, who almost killed us ain't outside? We was just tryna finish what he started." Y/n argued. "And how did that turn out for y'all?" Tashi went back to flipping his pancakes.

"Just fine." Miles appeared on the stairs making his way down. "'Till y'all showed up." He mumbled as he walked towards the island where Y/n was. He was shirtless still and his bandage was changed. "Hey, we came here to help." Aaron looked at the boy with a look of irritation. "And we came here for some privacy." Miles pecked his girlfriend on the lips and stood beside her while she slid him the fresh plate of breakfast she prepared for him.

"Privacy for what? So you can get the girl pregnant?" As soon as Tashi said that everyone's eyes averted at him all at once. "What? I'm just sayin'," Tashi shrugged. "She got her own crib I heard. Good on you by the way. Y'all can have all the privacy y'all want there." Tashi when back to his pancakes.

"It's her birthday trip." Miles cut his eyes at him. "Nobody is getting pregnant." Aaron clarified. "Well of course not. Y/n's the only female here. Tell that to her." Tashi joined Aaron at the table with his pancake. "Tashi do you ever shut up?" Miles asked slowly feeling himself getting worked up.

"It's fine. They're right. Ain't nobody gettin' pregnant." Y/n laughed as she gently placed a hand on Miles' chest to calm which helped. "See, she agrees. That's good, right? That's good." Tashi says with a mouth full of pancakes more so talking to himself because they all stopped paying attention to him a while ago.

"Any idea how Ace might know y'all are even here cuz ain't know way he keeping up with y'all like this—" "She done told Ms. Farris nosy ass." Miles took a bite of his eggs.

"Hey!"

"Boy, that's my mom you talkin' bout. Not to mention, yo grandmother. Cool it." Aaron said. "Not my grandmother, but definitely your mom." Miles said back.
"Well what does that have to do with anything?" Y/n asked. "Mama Vaughn been conversatin' a lot with Kingpin lately." Tashi answered. "So?" "Y/n, Ace gotta be workin' for him. Why else would he try to harm us every chance he gets?" Miles says looking into Y/n's eyes.

"Only way it makes sense." Aaron chimes in. "So what are we gonna do?" Y/n looked at Tashi and Aaron at the table. "I want everyone's locations. We need to know where y'all are at all times just in case Ace wanna pop up again." Aaron opens his phone and spins it towards the couple so they could put their information in.

"C'mon, we not kids. We'll just call—" "I'm not debating this, Miles." Aaron said with a stern voice. Miles looked at him for a minute before walking over to grab his phone. "I don't even know why you unshared it in the first place." Aaron mumbled. "Cuz I'm—" "Grown? Save it for someone who wants to hear it. You still need protecting and that's just as clear as day." Aaron looked down at Miles's stab wound when he said the last part.

The atmosphere became silent for a moment after that.
"Maybe you should get off the kid's ass." Tashi whispered to Aaron but everyone else could hear. "Don't." Aaron side eyed Tashi who then cleared his throat.

Back In Brooklyn

Río was home alone, talking with her sister on speakerphone as she cooked in the kitchen. "Thought you nunca íbamos a llamar." Río laughed before adding spice to her soup. "Nah girl, Tuve que! I was totally outta line with how I spoke to you. Lo siento, hermana." The woman apologized. "It's," Río thought back to the night it happened and remembered how disrespected she felt by her own sister but its was now the new norm. Violate her then apologize months later. "It's fine, Eliana." Río finally said.

(were never gonna call + I had to + I'm sorry sister)

"How's Eva?" Eliana asked through the phone. "Oh she's—" Río was interrupted by a familiar sound. It was a jiggle of the doorknob but it sounded like a struggle. If it was Eva she would know because Eva had a key and Río knew what that sounded like. She was very distinctive about these things because she knows what it's like to have a teenager who can't keep his butt inside the house and sneaks out like every other day.

So now she was worried. "Río?...Río?" "Y-Yes. I'm here. What did you ask?" Río picked up her phone and took it off speaker as she held it to her ears and went to grab a pan. "I said, how is Eva?" Eliana repeated. "She's fine. She's echándote de menos. When will you be back for her?" Río responded as she heard her door open.

(Missing you)

Río peaked out the kitchen doorway to see who it was and it was whom she'd never seen before.

What the hell? She thought to herself as her sister began fussing over the phone about how she knew Río didn't wanna take care of Eva because she's already asking when she'll come and get her. Once again, another stupid argument that will result in Eliana hating her again.

Río rolled her eyes but kept close notice of where the man was going. She watched as down up the hall towards her bedroom. She furrowed her brows at this. "Eliana, ¡No estás discutiendo sobre nada!" Río whispered yelled before she followed the man as quietly as she could.

(You're not arguing about anything!)

Once they were both in her room she couldn't take her sister's bickering anymore. "Eliana, it's fine!" Once she yelled the man turned around but before he could even pulled his arm back to swing at her, Río hit him with the frying pan as hard as she could. She knocked him out cold and sending him to the ground.

"¡Debería haberlo sabido mejor que dejar a mi hija contigo!" Eliana yelled at Río through the phone. Río was too busy analyzing the mystery man dressed in all black. "Yeah, yeah gimme a break, Eli. Listen, I gotta go. Eva's better off." Río said before hanging up the phone to call Aaron.

(I should've known better than to leave my daughter with you!)
