Maybe this time

Chapter 8

Suigetsu's words caught in his throat when he saw the scene before him.Sasuke shirtless under Sakura whose top was off.When the 'couple' heard Suigetsu's voice all the movements stopped.Suigetsu was staring at Sakura's back in awe.If he turned his head a little he could she more.

Sakura was as red as was possible for a human being.She didn't realize what was going on until the little interruption happened.Sasuke on the other side was annoyed as hell.So much that he could kill Suigetsu right on the spot.Then he got more annoyed when he saw him peering Sakura's bare body.With a movement he flipped Sakura on the other side of the bed and covered her with blankets.

Suigetsu knew what was coming.A full wave of Uchiha's rage.He quickly left the room when he saw Sasuke getting up and closed the door behind him.There was dead-like silence in the room.When Sasuke turned his head to look at Sakura she quickly got up and locked herself up in the bathroom.

Sasuke's hand went to the back of his head and ruffled his hair.He was truly annoyed.He knew that there was no way they would go back to their...activity and if he stayed on the bed none of them would sleep so he decided to go to the initial plan.Sleep on the couch.As he passed the bathroom door to go to the couch he peered a bit at the door.'Damn these hormones' Sasuke thought as he lied on the uncomfortable couch.

Sakura on the other hand was trying desperately to calm herself.When the red colour left her face she remembered what was happening a while ago and she was becoming crimson red.She washed her face with ice water in an attempt to calm herself.When she was calm enough she touvhed her lips.'He kissed me' she thought and couldn't help but smile.When she finally unlocked the door she saw Sasuke on the couch with a shirt on.'Better this way' she thought and lied on the bed.

None of them slept.It was impossible.

The next morning it was awkard as it was expected.Sakura pretended she was asleep when Sasuke was changing in the bathroom and when he left the room she could finally do the same.

She dressed up and went in the room where all the team was gathered.Sakura avoided Sasuke's eyes and he did the same.Karin noticed that and was wondering what happened the previous night.Both of them were acting weird.Suigetsu knowing the situation had a sly smile on his face and he averted his eyes to Sasuke and Sakura.Juugo was in his usual self.Not caring.

"So tomorrow it's the big day" Karin said trying to break this weird atmosphere between them."You never explained actually.What will you do?" and Sakura's eyes stared Karin's ones when she heard her answer."I need a bit of my blood.I am applying it on the patient's fatal wound and then I will do a hand seal.Aftel that there is a kind of tornado all over the place the jutsu is covering and I will pass out.The patient will wake after a while and then I will be unconsious for about one week." she explained keeping her eyes on Karin afraid to look anywhere or anyone else."Wait a minute.You said that this jutsu is stealing the life of every living being within its rage.What about you?" and with Karin's question Sasuke's attention was drawned in their conversation."Well...it may steal a year or two from my life but this is why I am not doing it a lot.The caster of the spell is protected but if someone else is in the range they will turn to dust.

"So you will help some foreigners and a dead possibly unimportant person for you just like that?Knowing that it will steal some of your life?" Karin said amazed by her words.Was she really willing to shorten her life just like that?"Well I am a medical ninja.I was trained for that.You know saving people and risking my life to do it.I don't have any problem doing my duty as long as I know that I am helping someone" she said and everyone was at awe.Sasuke was bothered.He suddenly got second thoughts about her doing it.She will die.Not now but she will.

Everyone thought of her as a strong-willed woman but Karin could see a little bit of fear in her eyes.No one would be good with the fact that they will give their lives and live shorter in order to save someone else.Sakura was trying to convince them that everything was fine but truly it wasn't.

"So can we go examine the corpse?" Sakura said wanting desperately to avoid everyone's stares."Sure" Karin said and they both got up and left the room.

"I know you are afraid.Everyone would be in your place.You don't have to hide it.At least from me.If i were you I doubt that I would risk my ass to help this person.Even if I am a medical ninja still I would put myself in front of everything else.So just the fact that you are willing to do it is enough." Karin said not knowing exactly why she was comforting her.She was her love rival.She had spent a night with Sasuke.So why?"Thanks for cheering me up.I really appreciate it." Sakura smiled at her and then turned her head ahead.

They went into the room that Sasuke had put the corpse.Thank god the smell was gone so they could just do their job without having urges to throw up."I know something is going on between you and Sasuke" Karin spatted while she was taking the corpse out of the frige."What?"Sakura said looking at her with wide eyes."I know.I can say when there is something between two people and even if I hate it I can see it." she replied with a melancholic look."I always loved him but he never returned my feelings.Then he left the village and I said myself I will forget him and move on.I did it.I am grateful he left though because in this way I was able to become stronger but I never forgot him.I wanted to become stronger for him.In order to have the strength to bring him back.When I became a captain I realized than in my current life there was no place for love.I needed to be cold and emotionless like him.Then I saw him and from one side I was truly happy that I could meet him.I was sad when I realized that he replaced us with you but then I was happy that at least he wasn't alone.He broke down all my walls.All these walls I made to keep back emotions." Sakura said slightly tearing up.She looked at Karin with tears in her eyes and said "I guess I still couldn't forget him" and Karin's eyes softened a bit.

"He cares about you as well.He never shows emotions like that.I don't want to make you sad but he had been with a lot women in his life.But until now he never looked any of them with this look he has when he is looking at you.But you know him.He doesn't like showing what he feels." she kept on comforting her.Maybe Karin deep down knew that she could never have Sasuke.

Sakura kept quiet.She didn't like the conversation.She didn't like crying over him.So she just stayed quiet knowing that Sasuke was her biggest weakness.
