Pt.12 diner

I woke up groggy and looked at the clock on my bedside table

2:37! I couldn't believe I had nearly slept for five hours

I practically jumped from my bed and remembered I needed to change

So I took off my shoes chucking them into the back of my closet

Then I went and rummaged through my dresser

until i found some clothes I was satisfied with wearing

I soon found a red tank top and some black jean shorts

I picked them up and after closing my dresser drawers i swiftly changed into the new top and shorts

Once changed I went to my closet and found a dark blue flannel and slipped it on

After I checked my hair I peaked out of my bedroom into the hallway

I then went out walking down the hallway and down the stairs

I went to our kitchen and found my baseball hat on the island with my red converse on the floor under the hat

I placed the hat on the slipped the converse on

But instead of tieing them like I usually did which took forever

I just tightened the strings then stuffed them into the sides of my shoes

Then I walked out my door down my porch stairs and onto the sidewalk

I decided I would try to go visit Wendy at the pool since I had nothing else to do

So I started walking to the community pool

Which wasn't to long of a walk it was only 15 minutes or so

Which is usually how long the walks were for anything in our town

Since we had a very small town alsmot everything was with a 10-15 minutes walks from eachother

Even if you lived on the edge of town it would only take 25 minutes to walk to the movies

Which when living in a generation where all kids walked everywhere

And parents barely drove anywhere those kids usually took this 25 minute walks over staying at home and doing nothing all day

Especially during the summers when most parents were at work while the kids were at home

After a nearly silent and peaceful walk I had finally made it to the community pool

You didn't have to pay for the poool thankfully so I just walked right in

I scanned the pool and saw Wendy sitting on the lifeguards tower liek she normally was

But then she looked at her watch and started climbing down the ladder

Once on the ground another girl who was wear the same red swimsuit as Wendy

Came and Took her place for Wendy now she was sitting on the tower watching the pool

"Hey Wendy!" I called out jogging over to Wendy as she walked away

"Oh hey y/n I haven't seen you in like a week!" She greeted me happily

"I know and I have so much to tell you" I said excited

"Great im just about to go on my break let's go eat and you can catch me up on things" I agreed and waited as she clocked out

"By Brad I'll be back in 45 minutes" Wendy waved to her manger as we walked out of the pool

We started walking to the diner which was the teenagers most popular hangout spot

I noticed that we got a few looks from people as we were walking through town

But Wendy didn't seem to care about walking in only her swimsuit and a flannel

We started talking about life as We walked into the diner and surprisingly it was mostly empty

Other than a few regulars as well as the one waitress

"Hey y/n hey Wendy choose any seat you'd like and Ill starve you soon" Mia greeted

Me and Wendy nodded and then chose to sit in a small booth

When we sat down neither of us touched the menus

"What are you going to get?" I asked Wendy

"A cheeseburger with fries and a milkshake, how about you?" She replied

"Oh getting the classic, me oh I'll probably just get some fries" she nodded

We started talking until Mia the waitress came

Mia was around nine and Wendy's age she was just a year younger than me

"Hey y/n and Wendy what can I get you two?" She asked with her pen and paper ready

"I'll get a cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate milkshake" Wendy told her

Once she had wrote down what Wendy wanted she focused her attention towards me

"I'll just get a coke with a big bowl of chips" I smiled

"Okay I'll be back in a second with those drinks but the food will a few minutes" she told us with a welcoming smile

"Okay thank you mia" I said as I handed her back out menus

Me and Wendy stayed a little silent and didn't start gossiping until mia came with our drinks

Because in my opinion mia would spread any ounce of gossip that she could get her hands on

"Okay so tell me what happened!" Wendy whisper yelled as Mia went into the kitchen

"Okay so I went to the party last night you knwo the first summer one" I started

"There was a party and you didn't invite me rudeeee" Wendy joked with a fake hurt expression

"Yes sorry anyways so I started getting ready like I normally do you know doing my hair make up putting on a normal party outfit then I grabbed a few things like gum, money, cigarettes and put them in my new purse" I stated but my mind soon trailed

"Oh you should actually see that k ok urse I just bought it and it looks really cute I think you would love it" I got side tracked

but thankfully Wendy got me back on track like normal

"Yes y/n I've been to a party before I know how it goes and I've gotten dressed for a party before, now yes I'd love to see your new purse but at a different time right now just finish the story please"

"Okay! So anyways basically I started walking right? And I was walking with Benny because earlier we had said we would" I sighed and paused for a moment before continuing

Oh my god I literally hated Wattpad for a hot minute

Because the stupid app deleted my first version of pt.12 and I loved the way that I wrote it

So I was upset and had to re write the whole thing which sucked

But yeah I love y'all so so much byeeeee :)
