Pt.1 pickle

Hi I'm y/n Conway (hehe see what I did there)

I have loved baseball my whole entire life

I never wanted to be distracted from the game

Even though the whole world was against me

since I was a girl in the 60s playing baseball

I never stopped playing even when boys were sexist pricks

And I was quite good at baseball to which usually shut the people up

I never thought about boys until last summer when I got my first boyfriend

Jordan Phillips

I play on the tigers team and we we're best friends since the age of six

Last year he asked me to be his girlfriend and I accepted gratefully

But there was someone who I always wanted but never got

His name was Benny Rodriguez

Don't get me wrong I love Phillips and he's a amazing boyfriend

But Benny I don't know what is about him but that face ugh!

I would gladly do so many things to that man in bed

He always flirted with me and I flirted back sometimes

Phillips hated Benny they were mortal enemies yet I didn't understand why

I didn't realize how much my summer would have changed until after

But you'll see how that goes 😜

It was the last day before the end of the school year

the sandlot kids were playing a game of baseball

against another random team on the schools baseball diamond

I was sitting near the front row of bleachers

I was sitting beside my boyfriend Jordan and the rest of our friends

Which mostly was the whole tigers team

I watched the game while the boys just joked around and talked

I watched as Benny swung his bat making contact with the ball

He dropped the bat and started sprinting

A kid in left field caught it and passed it to second

Second then threw the ball to whoever was on the home base

He caught it before Benny made it to home base

He started sliding before getting up and sprinting back to third

The person on third though caught it before he made it once again

A shorter red head boy then yelled out
"PICKLE!"

A bunch of players stood up watching the scene that was unfolding

Benny started running back to home but the guy on thrid passed the ball swiftly there before he could make it

The same process of going back and forth repeated a few times

Before Benny started jogging a little slow back to third

When the ball was caught on third base he sprinted back to home

And he made it just a few seconds before the person on home caught the ball again

Benny had just won the baseball game for his team

The rest of the sandlot boys crowded around Benny cheering

They patted him on the back and were all smiling happily

I stood up and cheered with the rest of my school

Except for my boyfriend and his friends they just stared at me

I doubt they had any clue what had just happened

They then glared at the sandlot team before in unison standing up

"Hey babe we're going to head to the carnival wanna join?" Phillips asked

"No I think I'm going to hangout out with Wendy thanks though" I smiled sweetly

He agreed and kissed my cheek before leaving with his team

After I knew they had left I hopped down the bleachers and onto the field

I walked to the dugout where the sandlot boys were still pack their stuff

"Hey Rodriguez" I greeted and he nearly jumped

"Jesus y/n you gotta stop scaring me like that" he chuckled

"Never it's funny now that was a mighty fine last run Benny" I smiled

He returned the gesture while grabbing his bat and glove

He then stuffed his glove into his back pocket like it was nothing

"Yes it was would you believe me if I said it was for you?" I laughed and he smirked

"No" I smiled again

"Anways why were you watching I mean Phillips looked like he wanted to die so I know he didn't want to be there" he asked

"Because I like baseball Benny" I explained with a duh tone

"So you weren't here to see me?" He questioned with sarcastic disappointment

"Sorry to disappoint but I wasn't focusing that much on you" I smiled

"Oh well then who were you focusing on Conway?" He smiled

"I was actually looking more at my boyfriend you know Phillips" I joked

"Well I guess I have to be your boyfriend to get you to focus on me right?" He smirked

"Like that will happen" I laughed

We had made it back to the school now and stepped back into the school

We parted ways to get the remainder of our things from our lockers

I grabbed my backpack and before I closed my locker it was closed for me

I turned to see Wendy smirking at me she was all giddy

"What's up Wendy?" I asked confused at her happy state since we were in a school

"Nothing much why?" She asked as we started walking down the hall and stairs

"W-" I was cut off

"Bye y/n see you soon!" I turned to saw Benny wink and blow a fake kiss

"Anyways" I laughed as Wendy nudged my arm

"I was saying that you seem rather giddy considering we are in a school which is basically hell for you" i point out

"Well schools out which mean two months of working at the pool" she smiles

"Yeah and two months of 14 year olds pervin on you" we both laugh

"Oh shush I find it cute like that one kid with glasses who likes me" she explains

"Your weird he literally kissed you after faking being unconscious!" I yelled

We had left the school and were now walking to her house

"Shhh you make it sound bad!" She whisper yelled

"Let's continue pretending it isn't bad then and go watch movies in your basement" I joked

"Thank you" she replied satisfied
