I sit down next to Matt instead of by Alex like usual. Alex was nervous. I could tell he was because his margarita was still full. And he wouldn't look up at me. As I figured Jamie quickly breaks the silent by asking me a question, I didn't want them to ask. "Why so dressed up? Are you going out today?" I didn't know what to say but I made up a lie "Oh, well my friend is having a party and setting me up with her brothers' friend. Am I too dressed up?" I asked as I pulled it off. "Oh, no. You look good. Its good you're finally going to meet someone after all this time." NIck butts in. Then Alex laughs and I roll my eyes at him. He still is looking down and mumbles under his breath "Yeah, getting out there" I give him a confused and slight disgusted look. The rest of the band see the tension between us, and all just stare at us awkwardly before Matt speaks. "Well, can we work? I have to leave for out of town early in the morning." I nod and take out my note pad. "Okay so, what are you guys thinking for your next tour?" I asked we then started talking work. Alex still never looking into my eyes.

About an hour later, Matt and Jamie leave. So now it's just me Alex and Miles. Alex and miles talk as I sketch things for their concerts on my iPad. Alex goes to the bathroom and Nick then randomly askes "So, how was yesterday, Alex told me y'all went to the arcade?" "o-oh ya we did. It wasn't anything special" Miles laughs then scoots closer "I'm Alex's best friend. He told me y'all kissed. He told me that you guys kissed for a while actually. And he told me he rejected you. Which I'm his best friend and he seems like He liked it. Now don't tell anyone I said this but. I think y'all are meant for each other" I couldn't help it, but I blushed at his words. Then look down and get sad "No, he is in love with Alexa, and they are going to get married. I have no chance to her." "Thats a lie. Yes, he loves her, but you might have a chance. They have been getting in fight a lot. And a little birdy told me it's about you" I'm speechless about his words but before I can ask more. Alex comes back. "I should go... To that party. I'll text you later Nick?" "Ya, that cool with me" 

I quickly run out the pub, but I left my iPad. And that iPad I got from my mom before she passed from lung cancer. She got it so I can do art. She always supported me. I couldn't go back in, so I just drove home. I felt tears of acid run down my face again. The thought of my mom's death and losing the last thing of her, killed me. Then the thought of what Miles said to me about Alex, and I are meant to be, hurt more than it helped. As I reached my apartment, I stopped crying and went straight to the kitchen to get some ice cream. About two hours later there is a knock on the door. I go to the door and open it to see Alex holding my iPad. "H-here, you left it at the pub, and I know how much it means to you." "Thanks" Its then awkward again, before I say "W-well I should get going" I then slowly shut the door in his face and whisper "Sorry... Bye" I then opened my iPad and unlock it. When it unlocked it was on the notes tab. And there were words I didn't write. I quickly sat down on the couch and started to read it. 

I just want to say sorry for the message. I wasn't saying that us kissing was a mistake because I didn't like it, it's a mistake because I cheated on my lovely girlfriend Alexa. I know it's no excuse, but I think your perfect and deserve so much better than me. And I still plan on marriage with Alexa. But I just wanted you to know, I did have fun yesterday and I hope you did to. Now lets put this behind us maybe. If you will forgive me, meet me at the cafe down the street tomorrow at 3 sharp. I hope to see you then

I can't believe he thinks everything is going back to normal. He broke my heart and wrecked me. I can't keep hurting myself. So, I can't show tomorrow. I feel bad but I can't. All I do is see Alex for work nothing else. I have to get over him. He is going to get married. And he doesn't care for me like that.
