Sandhya P.O.V
I went back to my home after and entered my house. I was curious to know what discussion has happened in my absence.
'Mom what happened is everything ok" I went towards my parents who were making a list of something and asked them.
'Rudra ji and their family requested to conduct the engagement ceremony in their house. ' Mom informed me about the changes.
"I think it is good for us. We were worried about the arrangements and whether we could meet up with their expectation or not. Now we just have to take the necessary items for the pooja and ceremony. I will inform your Dadi and Bua about the changes of venue they will come directly there" my dad replied and got up to go to his room.
'Ji, you go and inform them. I will make the final list and also I need to talk with the tailor about your dress' my mom says looking at me.
I went upstairs to my room and went to bed to sleep as I was done with the day and in no mood to study.
After Two days, on engagement day ............
Sandhya P.O.V
It's Saturday and the day of my engagement.
I woke up early at 6:00 am and started to get ready for the ceremony. I did my head bath and wore casual clothes until my mom came and helped me with the saree.
Yesterday, I skipped college as I was not feeling well with slight throat pain accompanied by occasional coughs. My mom was adamant and didn't allow me to go to college.
So, at last, I have to inform you through mail to sir for my absence and same for administrative office for 2 days leave."Sandhya" I heard my mom calling from outside.
"Haan maa'' I unlocked the door and waited for her to enter the room.
My mom came and helped me with draping the silk saree.
'Sanjana is there outside. I will call her and she will do yours up' my mom said.
'Maa, it's not necessary. I can manage ' I said.
'It is necessary, have you seen your face,e Sandhya?. There is no glow and on top of that dark circle, it's like you directly came from the hospital after suffering from a serious ailment. Be silent and let Sanjana do her work. It is needed for photography" my mom replied with a pissed-off face and went out.
My eyes filled with fresh tears. I controlled my emotions and sat on the chair, waiting for the beautician to finish her work.
Every time I get ready for any festival or function, my mom would have something to comment on my look and like always it would turn off my mood."Didi, I have finished my work. I think you have a slight fever. Are you ok?" I heard her voice after a few minutes disrupting my thoughts.
'Thank you, Sanjana. Yes, I am good it might be because of a cough and throat pain. I will take care" I assured her and look myself in the mirror.
She did a good job with doing minimal makeup and covering up my marks under the eye.
