                  Sandhya P.O.V

Today is a very important day in my life. Marriage was not on my priority list and upon that the additional responsibility of being a mother is making me nervous.
I doubt myself if I would be able to fulfill all the responsibilities.
The thought of being a part of someone's life especially when I will soon be a part of small kid life Pari, where my contribution as a mother would possibly shape her future and career is making my heart flutter with fear.

"Sandhya come we need to go fast it is the time" my mom came to my room bringing me to the present.
I am draped with a traditional red-colored saree, with simple jewels and minimal makeup.
We all went outside my mom, father, dadi, buajii, her daughter, and my brother all were waiting down at the apartment.
We took a cab and reached the temple which is of Shiv Parvathi.
From the far, I can see the temple was decorated with flowers.
We climbed the stairs and reached the marriage hall which was beside the main temple where a small section was assigned to us.
Anitha Aunty came she complimented my bride's look and saree.
At the back, I can hear someone scoff at it of course my buajii and her daughter which only I heard.
Ignoring them, I and my family followed Aunty Jii who took us to the mandap.
Ruhi, Pari, and along with close relatives were seated there.
Aunty took me to their relatives and introduced me to them.
I then went to Pari who got excited as soon as she saw me.
She started to wriggle in the arms of Ruhi. I chuckled at her antics.

Pandit Jii instructed Aunt Jii that it was time to start the ceremony.

"Rudra beta come sit here" I looked at the entrance of the hall coming towards the mandap.

My heartbeat got fastened with each step taken towards the mandap

My heartbeat got fastened with each step taken towards the mandap. His eyes shifted to me which made me look downwards

We both were made to sit beside each other and a subtle touch of his knees with my knees made my body shiver.

A sudden wave of nervousness commenced inside me.
The reality dawned upon me that in a few minutes, my status and life were going to be changed.
I started to wonder whether this change would be negative or positive. The life of 29 years of surviving had many ups and downs where I had never gotten that mental peace, and despite having family, loneliness was my companion.
What would this marriage change,?Maybe a life with a kid wouldn't be bad, a relationship with my mother-in-law,  and a friendly bond with my sister-in-law would give me that mental piece.
Then where would your husband come into your life my mind prompted me. The answer is still unknown to me.
The pandit ji is chanting Holy words where the meaning of Sanskrit shlokas was unknown to me.
I gave a side glance to my side where he was sitting with a stoic face looking at the fire.
