We walk through another sage hall but unlike the other one this one has various pot plants that are put against the walls. And paintings hung on different parts of the wall. It's really aesthetically pleasing. I wonder why they put so much effort into just decorating this building instead of both, this one and the one at the airport.
Shaking my head lightly and clearing my mind of any thoughts, I look ahead and tune into the world around me. The woman leads us to a set of white smooth metallic doors and once we stop by them she enters a code and the doors slide open.
I let out a soft gasp as I take in the scene before us, my mind doing backflips at how breathtaking it looks. The floor is made up of white, sage, pink and gray pebbles. The brick walls are replaced by a thick glass that forms an arch all around us. As we step into this new hallway, it starts to feel like I'm walking on a beach of pebbles with nothing above me but an endless sky.
We walk through the new hallway at a slower pace and I take it as my chance to take in the scene around me. Pitch blackness still surrounds the outside of the building but it's not that scary anymore. It's comforting in its own messed up way.
As we walk, the soft sound of pebbles knocking into one another fills the quiet space. I look out of the glass wall and watch as snowflakes start to fall. Melting and sticking to the thick glass. An involuntary shiver runs through me, causing me to put my arms around myself. I still haven't forgotten what they did to me.
I sigh softly and turn to look at the woman in front of me. She seems bored. All she's done ever since we've left the hall is walk straight ahead, not bothering with talking or addressing us in any way. It's as if her job sucked all the joy and happiness out of her life, leaving only boredom and a dull existence.
After a few minutes, we reach the end of the hall and are met by another set of white smooth metallic doors. Again she enters a code but this time the doors open to reveal the inside of an expensive looking bus.
She motions for us to step in and we do as she says. "Sit in any seats you feel are comfortable and acceptable" she says, then a beep sounds and the doors close. I look at Raphael and find him glancing at me.
"Well ain't she a cup of sunshine." He says quietly enough for only me to hear. I smile softly and start looking for a nice pair of seats.
After a few seconds of searching I nudge Raphael lightly and point towards a pair of seats. One of them is a window seat while the other is an aisle seat. I glance at Raphael quietly waiting for his input on the choice.
He presses his lips together and the corners of his nose raise as if he dislikes the choice. "If you don't like them we can sit somewhere else." i say.
"No, I was just messing around. I'm okay with those seats. Let's go." He leads the way and I follow closely behind him, trying my best to avoid looking at the other passengers.
