The 'bell' sounds, announcing the end of the fourth period and the beginning of the last period of the day which is ...huh. My schedule says it's empty. Does that mean I have this period free or is there an error on my schedule?

I switch off my built-in device and stand up. I focus on my smart watch and trying to figure out what's happening with my schedule. Maybe I should switch my watch off then on, I mean that normally works. Or maybe-

My thoughts are cut off as a bump into what feels like a wall. I stumble but quickly gain my footing and stop myself short of bumping into yet another wall. I look behind me to see the wall I almost bumped into. It must've appeared from nowhere because I don't remember -

I stare into a pair of green eyes and my mind goes blank. It's Raphael. His the almost-bumped-into-wall. I whip my head away from him in deep embarrassment, only for my eyes to collide with a pair of crystal blue eyes.

Oh, it's the wall I bumped into.

I continue to stare dumbly at the guy in front of me and he stares right back at me but there's something different in his eyes. Something I haven't seen before.

I hear Raphael clear his throat behind me and I snap out of my stupor, quickly gathering up my thoughts, words and apologies.

"I'm really sorry about bumping into you. I wasn't paying attention and probably disturbed you in some way, while you were probably doing something, so I am really sorry." I say to him.

He just continues to stare at me and I shift from foot to foot. Discomfort starting to settle in the pit of my stomach. "Um, what's your name?" I ask, hoping to lessen the awkwardness.

He frowns lightly and takes a step back from me. I hadn't even noticed the small amount of distance between us. Way to go Naomi, you offended one guy in two different ways in about three minutes. Almost a world record.

"Dáinn. My name is Dáinn. I'm also sorry for staring at you for so long, it's impolite." His deep, melodic voice says, as he scratches the back of his white wavy hair.

I blink back in surprise. "Um, yeah. It's okay, it's no problem. I'm really sorry for bumping into you, Dáinn." I say then chuckle nervously.

Dáinn smiles at me, easing the discomfort in my stomach. "Don't worry about it." He turns around to leave then turns back and smiles sheepishly. "Sorry, but I don't know your name." He says.

"My name is Naomi." I say politely before throwing him a smile. He smiles back and looks at me for a second before turning around to leave. "See around then, Naomi." Dáinn says before walking out of the class.

I stare at him as he walks out, a warm fuzzy feeling growing inside of me. I think I just made a friend. A goofy smile breaks out onto my face. Is it supposed to feel this awesome? Don't get me wrong, I've had friends before, in primary, but high school hasn't been as kind to me, so I'm kind of new to this whole teenage friends thing.

"Why are you smiling like that?"

Raphael's question snaps me out of my thoughts. I look up at him and raise one eyebrow. "What are you talking about?"

"There's this thing you're doing right now that's normally used to express happiness, but it can't be that thing because there's nothing to be happy about." Raphael says amused. He brings his hand to his chin and starts stroking it. I chuckle at his antics. This guy is too comical for his own good.

"I'm smiling because I think I just made a friend." I say while a goofy smile plays on my lips.

Raphael makes a disgusted face. "Friend?" He looks at the door and looks back at me, his eyebrow raised. "Him? What's his face...Dáinn?"He asks, a bit shocked.

I nod and Raphael's eyes go wide and faces me and holds both my shoulders in his hands. His green eyes stare at me intensely, causing a flutter in my stomach. Wait, a flutter?

"I'll be honest with you, Dolphin. That boy, I don't like him." Raphael says in a whisper voice. "I'm pretty he's older than yo-" I begin to whisper back to him but he shushes me.

"He's way too rude, he didn't even greet me and I'm his elder. You shouldn't be friends with such disrespectful people." He says before putting his arm around my shoulders and leading me out of the classroom as other students came in.

I suddenly feel a pricking at the back of my neck. When I look back I see the girl Raphael was with, glaring at me. I turn back and sigh under my breath. Great, this is the literal definition of you lose one, you gain one. I lost a potential friend but I also gained one.

Once we're out of the class Raphael says bye and I say it back to him. He then heads to his period. I take a moment and think back to my interaction with Dáinn, although it was awkward it was also kind of nice. He seems like a nice guy.

His looks also fit in perfectly with the landscape of Antarctica. Platinum white wavy hair that falls into crystal blue eyes. A pale white complexion paired with pastel pink lips. He even has a silver eyebrow piercing.

I shake my head lightly, I thought piercings weren't allowed for males anymore. I start to walk and turn left after passing another classroom. I hope my class isn't too far away, I'm kind of tired of walking. And plus all this friend making business is a bit tiring.

And at the end of the day making friends isn't really going to help me with this whole TriTerra situation, unless they happen to have the answers to all my questions. If they actually do then wow, that would be one of the best things ever.

I chuckle lightly at my own stupidity and walk to my next period.
