It's been a couple of hours now, and apparently we're going to reach our destination in one hour. I can't say I'm really excited, I'm more anxious than excited.
During Raphael and mine naps we were woken up and given food by the robot. It had been bright outside, the pale sunlight lighting the once dark world. Now all I see when I look out the window is a white snowy land.
It's pretty, in its own way. After eating, Raphael and I had decided to watch movies on our screens. Yes, the transportation vehicle has screens as well. It's like these people are overstocked on these tablet-thingys and they now have to put them in every possible place.
Currently, Raphael and I are watching 'Godzilla Vs Kong'. It's so good. The part we're watching right now, is the part where they go to hollow earth and King Kong gets his battle ax. At this point I'm practically leaning towards the screen, super tuned in.
As it's about to get even more interesting, a pale hand makes its way into my peripheral view from behind. It pokes Raphael's shoulder, causing him to look up and simultaneously pause the movie.
My mood drops. The fudge? Like no, what the actual fudge? Why the heck does this happen to me whenever I start to enjoy a show? I take my headphones off angrily and put them away, no longer interested in finishing the movie. What's the point anyway because someone or something else is just going to disturb me.
I turn my head towards Raphael and his hand pal, annoyance shining brightly on my face. "Hey, I never caught your name, the last time we met. And I only just realized that we're on the same ride."
I pause immediately, my eyes widening. I know that voice. No way, there's no way it's her. I look up and my worst suspicions are confirmed. It's Jade, the brunette from the bus. The one who told me off and called me an African. What an ugly small world. I mean she's pretty but her attitude makes her seem unattractive.
I cringe and look away from her, trying my best to be invisible.
"So I was thinking- Agh, you're paired up with her? The African?" Her voice cuts through the air, her dislike for me obvious in it. I frown, my mood dropping even further, it's probably reached hell by now. I turn to look at her from her position up on the headrests of our seats. I guess invisibility is out the window.
"Hi Jade." I say nicely. What's that saying again? When someone hits you turn the other cheek? I should do that right? Be the bigger person here, but what if she also hits my other cheek?
She looks at me for a second then focuses back on Raphael, ignoring me completely. I turn in my seat and sit back in my original position. Suddenly feeling the urge to tell her off and see if maybe she'd like it if someone hit her cheek.
I click my tongue lightly and frown at the floor. This is frustrating. I want to tell her off and call her names but that goes against who I am. Nevermind everything that other people say and do to me, I know who I am. And I can't go against myself and stoop to her level.
