Chapter nine

Shadow's pov:

I walked to Mephiles, who seemed stressed. 

"Hey, are you feeling ok?" I tried to engage in a conversation. 

He stopped walking and looked at me, his face was covered in blood, and I remarked that his whole body was, I didn't see it since his original fur is very dark and didn't seem to change the color. 

"Do I look like I'm ok?" He asked with a strong voice like he was about to snap and cry at the same time. 

I was a bit taken aback by it but brushed it off. 

"My bad, but listen at least everyone is ok and-'' I got cut by Mephiles. 

"Everyone ok?! Are you joking!? I hurt Sonic and Silver without knowing! And even killed other people I didn't know of!" He almost yelled. 

I could see a little tear coming from his eye, I can clearly see he's truly sorry for his action. He's not the type to cry, like ever. 

"Listen Mephiles, it's not your fault, so stop blaming yourself for something you couldn't control. We came here to save your ass and Sonic, so stop complaining! In a way or another we would have been hurt. I understand that you care about him, so he would feel bad to see you like that." I replied. 

He sighed, looking at the ground. 

"I guess you're right, but I still hurt them, didn't you see how they were bleeding because of me?" He tried to blame himself for hurting them. 

I'm not a hugging person, but he looks like he needs one, so I approached him and gave him a hug. 

"What are you doing?" he then asked, a bit shocked. 

"Stop talking, just accept this." I replied with a firm tone. 

He stopped talking and hugged me back. I don't know yet if it's going to help him, but at least he's gonna be a bit more relaxed. The hugging lasted for a long time before he pulled out. 

"Thanks, I think I need it." he said, a bit embarrassed and looking at the ground. 

"It's no problem, I just didn't know what to do." I replied, laughing. 

"Well I think you'll need to wash yourself too, I must have put blood on you." he said before pointing at me. 

I looked at myself and saw I was covered in blood. 

"It's alright, I'm used to it." I said, brushing it off. 

"We should maybe join them." I said, looking at Mephiles. 

He refused, so I had no choice but to drag him to them. 

"Hey Mephiles, how are you feeling?" Sonic asked when we arrived. 

"I'm ok, i'm not injured, how about you?" he seems to still feeling bad, but less than before. 

"Oh well Shadow healed me, and Silver is feeling fine, except a bit tired. He's over there if you want to see him." Sonic pointed at Silver's direction. 

He thanked Sonic before walking nervously to him. 

"What's wrong with him?" Sonic said. 

"Seriously?" I replied with a pissed face. 

"He hurted you and Silver, he has remorse, so he feels like shit." I explained. 

"Oh that makes sense." He replied, chuckling awkwardly. 

"Where is Amy, by the way?" I tried to look for her but I couldn't see her. 

"Oh don't worry I told her to go, we'll be fine anyway." he replied.
