Was that all a dream?

chapter ten

Shadow's pov:

As I thought I would have fallen asleep just to see Sonic again right after, well I didn't see him. The room was completely dark and now one was here. 

"Shadow is that you?" I heard behind me. 

I looked in the direction, and as I thought I would have seen Sonic, I saw... me. Like a mirror vision of myself. 

"Who the heck are you?" I asked, being careful and menacing. 

"Hey, don't need to be so defensive little one, I'm actually happy to finally see you and meet you." he replied, waiting for a handshake. 

"Are you the Shadow of the universe we are trapped in?" I asked, ignoring his handshake. 

"I actually am, I didn't know you were so edgy, I like your attitude." he replied, in a flirty voice like Rouge usually does. 

"Anyway, how do I get out and finally get back to my old body?" I asked coldly. 

I really need to get out of here and live my old life, I'm kind of missing it. 

"It's surely behind that big light between me, I couldn't really go in there so I had to wait here to finally have a miracle." he replied, pointing at a big white light. 

"Thanks a lot darling, I can't wait to see my boyfriend again, it's been too long since I wanted to see him." he then said. 

I froze on my way. Shit, I totally forgot about our relationship between Sonic and I. How did I forget about that? I should be ashamed. As I was overthinking, the other Shadow snapped me out of this. 

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"I forgot I built up a relationship with the Sonic I know, but maybe he was right, maybe it's built up with fake emotions..." I replied, feeling my throat tense. 

He looked at me sadly and walked towards me. 

"Of course it's not based on a lie you dumbass! If it was really, you wouldn't be with him, plus maybe the problem is just that you can't express your emotions really well and being here just helped huh?" he said. 

"How do you know that?" I looked at him, a bit shocked that he knew this information. 

"I feel like I can read you like an open book, but go join him, and you'll figure it out very soon." he replied, smiling at me.

"We'll see on the other side." then I smiled at him.

"Have fun with you boyfriend and I hope you have a great life." I said, walking towards the light. 

"Good luck!" is the last thing I heard before it went all white.

I woke up violently, with a gagging reflex, I could feel something down my throat. 

"Shadow!" I heard a voice beside me, before feeling the object being pulled out of my throat. 

I coughed badly before feeling someone hugging me. I immediately pushed the person away.

"Gosh let me breathe, my throat is sore." I heard some sniffing and giggling. 

"You never change, even after a month in a coma." the voice said. 

I looked at them and recognized Rouge. 

"Nevermind, come here I need it." I finally said. 

She immediately hugged me and she cried out of tiredness and happiness, well at least that's how I felt it. After a few seconds, she punched me on my arm, and started scolding me.
