Todoroki's POV
Ever since then, I've been in and out of school due to my frequent bruises and burns from my father. I always felt tired, and every part of my body hurts, due to the frequent injuries I get from my Father. After that incident, I decided to take a couple days off to heal myself. When I returned, I felt people staring at me weirdly as I walked in the hallway to my class. Why are they staring at me like that? Are my injuries noticable? Did they realize that something must be happening to be because of my frequent absences?
Once I found my classroom, I stepped in, and felt everyone's eyes avert to me. I just ignored them and quietly went to my seat, pulling out my textbook to prepare myself to learn in math class, when Mr.Aizawa stepped in. I watched him as he took his seat, then put my head down. I was mentally and physically exhausted from all the harsh training and bruises that I get from it. A minute felt like forever as I kept watching the clock.
"Mr.Todoroki, is something the problem?"
I jerked my head up and saw the teacher looking at me. I turned my head around and looked all around the room. Seeing everyone's eyes focused on me all of a sudden made me panic for a second. I forced myself to calm down, then cleared my throat.
"No sir, I'm all right." I answered clearly as I opened my notebook to look at my notes, pretending to study during class. He shrugged, turned his head, and continued on with his lesson.
Aizawa's POV
We're not even studying or going over any notes. He isn't paying attention, isn't he? I glanced over my shoulder, and took a good look at him. He looked a little pale, and also a little weak. Looking at his eyes, he looked like he was in another world. I've also been noticing his frequent absences. I decided to get to the bottom of this after class ended.
~End of class~
The bell rang, and people started to leave to go to their next class. I turned my head from the board, and saw Todoroki, lying face down on his desk. He looked like he was asleep, so I shook him gently to wake him up. His face suddenly jerked open, looking at me with surprise. Damn, he really looks tired.
"Oh, I'm so sorry sir, I didn't know class ended already. I'll be going-"
"Shoto." I interrupted him to calm him down.
"Yes, sir?" I could hear a little fear in his voice.
"Are you alright?"
He stopped dead in his tracks. His eyes looked at me in shock, which was confusing me because it was just a simple question.
"Yes...everything is alright." He sounded hesitant, which made me suspicious. He didn't look nor sounded alright.
"Are you sure? You look really tired and pale." My face was filled with concern as he turned his gaze back to me.
"Yes, I'm sure." He gave me a small smile before packing his stuff, and walking out of the classroom. I didn't stop him, since it was useless if he was just going to say that, but I know something's wrong. And I have to get to the bottom of this.
I decided to talk to his friend, Midoriya, and see if he noticed it, too.
Todoroki's POV
Phew, that was a close call! I almost exposed myself. I took a sigh of relief as I walked to my locker. On my way there, I saw Midoriya approaching me. I knew he was going to ask me the same question, so I pretended that I didn't see him.
"Shoto, why are you ignoring me? Is there something you're hiding from me?" He asked worriedly. I simply shook my head and continued to do my business.
"You don't have to tell me, but you don't have to block me out either. I'm your friend, you know." You're not really my friend. I only agreed because I didn't have anyone else.
"Yeah, I know, but I have some stuff that I don't want you to be involved in, you know?" I turned to walk away, but he held my arm, forcing me to stop in my tracks.
"You know you can't hide whatever it is you're dealing with forever, right? I'm always here." He said softly with a smile. Why does he always act so kind? Is he being genuine, or is he saying out of pity? I wiggled my way out of his grip, and started to walk away.
I don't want you to waste your time on me. I don't deserve to be noticed anyways.
...
Midoriya's POV
What was wrong with Shoto-kun? Even though he looked pale and tired, he just shrugged it off as if it was nothing. Something is bothering him, but he won't tell me. I watched him walk out of my view in the hallway, then turned around to go to my locker. My locker was on the other side of the hallway, so I had to walk the other way around. On my way there, I noticed Aizawa-sensei signaling me to come into the classroom. It looked urgent, so I immediately rushed over. He shut the door, and started to speak to me in a low tone.
"Midoriya, do you see something wrong with your friend?"
"Yes. He's been acting up, as if he is hiding something, but he won't tell me. Also, he looks pale and really tired, like he hasn't slept for days. Based on those factors, I assume something is happening in his personal life." I exclaimed confidentaly. He looked at me, then turned away, looking like he was thinking about something.
"Do you happen to see him with anyone else besides you?" That question got me thinking for a second. Then, it clicked. There was one other person who he seemed to be spending a lot of time with these days...
"Well, I do see Shoto-kun with Bakugo nowadays. Makes me wonder why, cause I thought they were rivals." Aizawa's eyes widened in shock. I guess he didn't expect Shoto to be hanging out with the school troublemaker, out of all people.
"I see. Well, you can go now." He dismissed me as I waved him goodbye before heading out to my next class.
Aizawa's POV
Bakugo, huh? Never in my life did I think that Todoroki would be hanging out with HIM. Now all I had to do was find him, but where can he be? I walked out of the classroom and searched for him in the hallway. After a while, I found him by his locker. Probably getting his stuff for his next class. I thought as I walked up to him.
"Bakugo."
"What?" He said without glancing at me. Sometimes his attitude can be a bit irritating.
"Come with me." He noticed the seriousness in my voice, and quickly finished his business and followed me into the classroom.
"What'd you call me here for?" He said with a confused look as I signaled him to take a seat.
"Do you have any business with Todoroki?"
His eyes widened, but then narrowed as he glared at me.
"No, why?"
"Don't lie to me. I know you've been around him a lot recently."
He looked away. "It was probably Deku who told you, right?"
How the hell did he know? "Yes."
"Well, just to clarify, I am not hurting him in any way, nor do I have any business with him." He said as he started to walk to the classroom. I didn't stop him, though I knew he was lying. He wasn't the kind of person who would just hang out with someone for little to no reason. I sat on my desk, trying to figure out who could've done this. The stress and confusion was tiring me out, so I pulled up my sleeping bag and lied down on it.
"I'll figure who did that to Todoroki, soon enough..." I mumbled as I yawned and went to sleep.
