After Johnny defeated Scorpion, it was now Liu Kang and Kitana's turn.
He engaged in a brief duel with Kitana, who secretly offered him cryptic advice for his next battle.
Liu's next opponent was Sub-Zero, whose defense seemed untouched because of his freezing abilities until Liu recalled Kitana's advice and used it to kill Sub-Zero.
At the same time, Shang Tsung slowly walked onto Goro's throne while facing him.
"Is it time?" Goro asked impatiently.
He smirked. "Yes. We let these humans win up."
Goro sat up from the throne chair. He let out an exclaim as he felt the Silver Crystal shined brightly. He was wearing it around his neck, claiming to be a necklace.
"At last!" Goro said.
Goro entered the tournament and mercilessly crushed every opponent he faced. One of Johnny's peers, Art Lean, was defeated by Goro and then his soul was taken by Shang Tsung. Sonya worried that they may not win against Goro, but Raiden disagreed. He revealed their fears and egos were preventing them from winning the tournament.
