pls don't kill me
Gwen arrived at the hospital, tired. It had been more than a month since Danielle's accident, and she still wasn't remembering anything.
Gwen had already lost hope.
Her best friend was obviously not going to remember her, and there was nothing anyone could do about it.
As she sat in the waiting room, some memories with Danielle crossed her mind.
"Gwen Jones?" dr. Cooper called, looking around.
That was fast.
Or maybe she was just so caught in her own world that she lost notion of time and didn't realize how much time passed.
The teenager stood up and walked to the nurse.
"Are you okay?" the woman asked, sweetly as always.
Gwen just nodded, avoiding more questions. She knew dr. Cooper only wanted to help, and it was really sweet on her part, but the girl needed some silence after all that happened today.
They arrived quickly, finding Danielle reading her book again.
"Hi" Gwen greeted.
The girl looked up to the people that had just walked in the room.
"Hi" she replied, smiling, before returning to her book.
"How are you feeling today?" Gwen asked as she sat down on the chair next to Danielle's bed, and looked at dr. Cooper, who left the room shortly after coming in.
"I'm fine" the girl replied with her eyes still on the book.
To be honest, Gwen was waiting for a more elaborated answer, she wanted to know how her best friend was.
She didn't seem really fine, she looked sad.
"Are you sure?"
But Danielle didn't answer.
Instead, she kept reading, ignoring her question.
"Are you mad at me?" Gwen asked after sighing.
Again, nothing.
No answer.
She wouldn't even look at her, which worried her even more.
"Just so you know, Sasha's coming later. I think she'll be here in ten minutes, but I won't be here until then. I'm busy, so today I just wanted to come quickly just to check on you, and see how you're doing"
The girl was still reading, not paying attention. Gwen wasn't even sure if she had heard anything she just said.
"Look, Dani... if I did or said something wrong that made you uncomfortable, please tell me. I can fix it. But please don't ignore me, it makes me feel really bad"
But there was no response again.
Not even a nod or a small reaction.
"If you're mad at me, just tell me. Fine, I'll leave. Maybe you just need some time alone. I have things to take care of, anyways" the young girl said as she stood up and left, disappointed.
