a/n: another chapter that's kinda special to me hehe

it's inspired by the song enough for you :)

I know the song is about breakup, just like the song Memories, but I like changing the meanings of the songs for my chapters so they can make sense with the plot lol

I'm sorry if this chapter doesn't make a lot of sense, my brain wasn't braining and I didn't know what to write to fill the chapter 😭

anyways enjoy! <3

Before Gwen knew it, another week went by.

Wow, time really flies.

Now that she thought about it, it had been two months exactly since the accident.

And her best friend still didn't remember her.

She used to keep having hope that one day Danielle would remember her, but it had been a month since she woke up, and she hadn't remembered anything yet.

Maybe she was never going to.

She had lost hope already.

Today time went really fast too.

Nothing interesting happened.

She had a lot of tests, as always.

Today she had two tests, a Math one and an English one.

They weren't that hard, to be honest.

Also, for some reason teachers kept giving her a lot of homework.

Recently she had been really busy.

When the bell for lunch break rang, she walked towards the library.

Now that she thought about it, she never saw again the mean girl that was there two weeks ago.

She wondered what could've happened to her.

Gwen felt kind of bad asking herself this question, but was she even alive?

She opened the library's door and walked in.

After picking up the book she hadn't finished, she sat down and started reading it.

She only had ten pages left.

After a while, she finished reading it, and just then she heard the door being opened.

Someone walked in and sat on a chair, Gwen assumed the person had started reading.

She didn't know anyone that liked reading, so she had no idea who the person could be.

Actually, now that she thought about it... she did.

The mean girl.

She hadn't seen her in two weeks, but it could be her.

Gwen stood up and started looking for her.

It didn't take her too long.

She was right, it was the girl.

She was reading.

"What?" she asked without looking away from her book.

"Why haven't you come to school for the past two weeks?" Gwen asked.

"Why do you care?"

"Just wondering. Were you sick?"

"No" she said after a short pause, still reading.

"Why haven't you come then?"

The girl sighed before replying.

"Family problems. Now leave me alone"

"Why are you so rude?"

The girl kept reading, ignoring Gwen.

"You're new here, aren't you?"

She still wouldn't reply.

"You know, everyone has a reason for having a certain personality. Maybe someone has done something to you, for you to have such a mean personality. By the way, what's your name?"

"None" she finally said.

"None what? That doesn't even make sense"

"None of your business" she said, finally looking at Gwen with an annoyed look on her face, before going back to her book.

Gwen rolled her eyes at the girl's childish behavior.

Rude.

"Well, just so you know, I'm here for you, if you ever need anything" she said before turning around and starting to walk away.

The girl just gave her a weird look before speaking.

"Why do you care so much?"

Gwen stopped walking before replying, without turning around.

"I know when people need help"

She started to walk again, but the girl stopped her.

"Jenna"

Gwen turned around to face her.

"My name is Jenna" the girl added.

Gwen didn't really know how it happened exactly, but for some reason they were now talking and sharing their lives.

Jenna was telling about her life.

"My parents got a divorce, and it was all because of me" she said, trying to hide the pain in her voice. In Gwen's opinion, she was good at it, since she didn't seem so sad while talking. "All because I just couldn't close my mouth. If I hadn't told my dad to stop talking like that to my mom, my parents would still be together, my little brother wouldn't be suffering with my dad - even though I don't even know if they are alive, because we lost all contact with them - , I wouldn't have moved here with my mom and my older brother, I wouldn't have such a horrible life and I wouldn't have ruined my family's life"

"It's okay, everyone makes mistakes" Gwen tried to comfort her. "It wasn't your fault that your dad was an alcoholic and that he was so horrible. Look at the bright side, at least you don't have to suffer with him anymore"

"Yeah, but my little brother is still suffering with him. I left him behind"

"Why didn't he come with you?"

"Because my dad wanted him. For some reason, he wanted him to stay"

"I'm sorry about that, but you can't spend your life regretting a decision you made. You did the right thing by trying to protect your mom, and now you don't hear your parents argue every day"

"Yeah..."

Jenna sighed before continuing.

"I'll never forget the trauma that my dad caused me and my family. But especially me. He hated me so much. He would always yell at me for no reason, he would insult me and tell me that I'm useless, annoying, selfish, spoiled and so many other things that made me feel horrible"

"I'm so sorry, you never deserved this" Gwen said before hugging her.

"Thanks"

"I knew someone had to do something for you to have such a rude personality" she said with a smile after breaking the hug.

Jenna giggled at the girl's comment.

"I'm sorry about that, sometimes I just can't control myself"

"It's okay. Do you know why your dad treated you like that?"

"No, I never understood why he was like that. All I ever wanted was to be enough. But I don't think anything could ever be enough for him"
