It's not uncommon for Alexander to stop by the precinct. Nick has realized that most of his trips are linked to you. Since he's here, it might just be some information he wants you to evaluate concerning a plan he'd like to implement. His office is in the city, so it's not that long a drive.

You're not exactly needed for any pressing matters.

That's why Renard waves you off when you inform him that you'll be helping Alexander for a few hours. He understands the importance of the Wesen Council and what this partnership means.

"Don't get her in any trouble." Nick warns.

Alexander nods.

"I'll look after her, you have my word."

You can read enough from his face to know those words are sincere.

"Are you ready?

You salute with a grin.

"Sir, yes sir!"

He smiles, as you walk up beside him, sending a wave at Nick.

"Don't fall apart without me!"

"We'll try not to!" Nick responds.

You're smiling the entire way of the building. You're a bit curious on what exactly your task will be today. Alexander values your expertise. As you slip into his car and buckle your seatbelt, he pulls out of the driveway.

"So how was the visit with your aunt?"

He glances in your direction briefly.

"How did you know I visited my aunt?"

"You reek of perfume, not the kind a woman under forty would wear. It's pretty strong, especially at the front of your jacket, that means she probably smothered you in hugs the second you walked through the door. That level of affection suggests a close friend or relative, someone you clearly adore. Your hair is also slightly ruffled. You noticed it when you left but you didn't bother to fix it because the gesture brings a sense of comfort."

Alexander knew he should stop being surprised, but you always left him a bit speechless.

"It must be quite handy having that gift of yours."

"It's a curse. " You say jokingly.

His eyes stay fixed on the road as he continues to his destination. You both exchange words back and forth. Even when you make it to his office he updates you on the trial with Jefferson and plans that the council will implement to ensure a situation like that does not repeat. Alexander has a few images laid out on his desk, and he's hoping you can read something from the shots to prove who would be the best candidate for his head of security.

Each image is laid out on top of a folder with a biography on the individual. You run through each one thoroughly to make a decision. You're seated on the couch, and cup of tea in hand as you scan them. Alexander seems to be catching up on some paperwork.

"I can't believe I never asked this before but what kind of Wesen are you?"

Alexander pauses, clearly a bit caught off guard, but his eyes glimmer in a way that displays excitement.

"I'm a Pflichttreue."

You squint.

"That really clears up everything."

Alexander chuckles, finally dropping the pen in his hand.

"Would you like to see?"

You place your cup and the file down hurriedly as you pace over to the desk.

"I mean, if you insist."

He can't help but find it a bit comical. Your interest is impossible to hide. You're practically hanging off the table. He leans his head forward in a slow manner and you stare as white fur is slowly replaced by skin. His eyes are glowing, not truly yellow, or green. Possibly a mix of the two. There's a few dark spots that blend in perfectly with the white.

If you'd had to guess, you would say the closest comparison is a panther. The second he woged he'd let out a low growl. You assume it's not voluntary. There's nothing threatening about the way he's looking at you. However, you know if presented with an enemy, that could easily change. You're astonished because you've only ever seen Rosalee fully woged.

Monroe has always worn a weary look when you asked and from the expression everyone made when you questioned about Adalind, it didn't take a genius to see hers would be even less pleasing than Monroe's.

"Wow.."

It's all you can work yourself up to say. When you joined the department you knew right away the team was hiding something. The logical assumption was corruption, that's why you had confronted Nick with intent to expose whatever was going on. When he explained you still had a hard time believing, but you couldn't deny that it must have been true. You recognized the signs. It took Rosalee showing you for it all to sink in.

It's still a bit strange that this is actually real.

He rolls his head back and the fur retracts. You're once again staring into those blue eyes.

"Intriguing isn't it."

You don't respond to his statement. It takes him a moment to notice that your eyes are tracking all over his face, almost like you're searching for the switch responsible for his change. Your hands are pressed on the desk and you're slightly leaned over. He smiles to himself, taking this moment to admire you. Because you are just as much a marvel as he is. He's never met someone with such keen skills that you possess. Your mind works in a way he can't comprehend. He's seen profilers, but your abilities are different.

"They called him The Mentalist."

That's the definition he was given when he researched your father. The fact that you weren't blood relatives made it that more unique. He trained you, possibly unconsciously. It wasn't uncommon for families to pick up the mannerisms and skills from family members. You'd accomplished something amazing and your nature was so laid back and aloof. Just looking at you no one would suspect it. He could attest to that.

"Can you do it again?"

You were gazing at him with the curiosity and excitement of a child and he smiled, shaking his head.

"It's not a party trick Ms. Jane."

You pout.

"Come on, I'm new to this. Just one more time."

He hadn't planned to give in, but you were staring at him like a puppy. With a defeated laugh, he nodded.

"Very well."

He woged again and you were smiling. You held a hand out, finger reaching as you poked his nose. He didn't seem very amused.

"Are you finished?"

The deepening of his voice caught you off guard, moving back, you swallowed.

"Woah.."

He changed back after a second.

"Now that you've been entertained, I need to get back to work." He said it a bit playfully.

You just nodded, now not even looking at him as you moved back to your chair. Alexander narrowed his eyes when you just delved back in without so much as a protest.

For the rest of the evening you stay focused on work.

At that moment you need the distraction.
