Chapter 29

"What we're talking about is impossible. You can't just create a Grimm. If it were that easy don't you think the Royals would have done that ages ago" Monroe reasons.

Nick has to agree. After the hell they went through trying to take him, if there was a chance to create one, then they would know.

"Then woge, prove me wrong."

Your words sound harsh.

Alexander understands why you're being hostile. Like all of them, you're scared. Monroe and Rosalee exchange a look, but no one makes a move to actually do what you suggested so he steps forward.

"This is a waste of time. I'll prove it."

He woges, and they all stare. Both Monroe and Rosalee look stunned and Alexander changes back immediately with a few unsteady steps backwards. He stares at you and at that moment you know because you saw the change. Along with the fear his eyes held. You wish it hadn't made you feel so horrible.

Tainted.

Watching them stare at you like some kind of abomination.

"Impossible.."

He's unsure of what other words that can be used to describe what he saw.

"She's a Grimm.."

There's nothing but fear in Monroe's words. Not that you expect anything different. Nothing about this is natural, and that in itself is dangerous.

You are dangerous.

That's how they'll see you.

That's what you are.

There was no discussion after that. You stand, heading for the door and Nick grabs your hand.

"Where are you going?"

"Anywhere but here."

You don't even send another look at Alexander, maybe if you did you would have seen how hurt he looks.

"Don't call."

You force your hand out of his grasp as you walk right out the door. They all just stand there, trying to process what just happened. Alexander's expression changes.

"We need to look after her, we can't just let her go off. She could be in danger." Alexander tries to walk past Nick, but he blocks the entrance.

"We need to give her time. If you push too hard, she might run."

Alexander would like to deny it, but with how standoffish you were, Nick is right to make that assumption.

"The only people who know about this are standing in this room. We keep the circle small, only tell people that we trust, no one else. If even a word of this gets out-"

"It could be a catastrophe.." Alexander finishes.

Nick nods.

"I'll make sure she gets home safely and then I'll check on her tomorrow, make sure she's alright. For now, everyone else should steer clear."

Alexander doesn't like the plan, but right now, Nick is the only one you can really relate to. With how hurt you looked, anything he has to say would probably make it worse for you now.

"Please..just protect her.."

He wouldn't be able to live with himself if anything happened to you again. That night still haunts him because there was a part of him that thought you would not come back.

"I will."

Nick is dependable, so Alexander knows that you're in good hands.
