A JRPG that is a combined Sega Dreamcast port of the original two Evolution games.
Easily the weakest RPG I've played on the system.
Not horrifically bad by any stretch of the imagination, but this one failed to catch my attention for very long.
Okay, as an RPG, you could definitely sink your teeth into this one for a while.
Buuuuuut...is the game fun?
Well...
It is rather traditional, and...
The butler character shoots a gun as his attack...I guess?
I'm sorry, but other than something like Golden Sun, traditional turn-based JRPGs don't stand out from the pack and feel generic and blend in with one another if they don't have some unique and cool mechanic involved to separate themselves from the others or don't have new battle systems of their own. Some have an outstanding story, but as a gameplay-oriented person, I could care less about that.
The worst a game can make me is bored and make me feel like I'm going through the motions.
Although the inclusion of English voice acting is fine, I suppose, even if the graphics are underwhelming, if passable at best.
Even then, I doubt really anybody remembers this game or even the original versions on the Dreamcast when all is said and done.
In terms of games, you could certainly do worse, and this isn't even the worst RPG in the world, but it was kind of inconsequential to me at the end of the day.
