Akshara reclined in the tub, allowing the warmth of the bubble bath to envelop her as she soaked in her husband's comforting embrace. She went through the motions in a haze, while her mind was reeling with the conversation she had a few moments ago.
"Abhi..." She tilted her body to look at her husband who looked equally lost in his own thoughts.
"Abhi!" She lightly nudged him only for him to get startled and look at her.
"Kya soch rahe ho?"
He shook his head "Kuch nahi." He brushed it off before he stretched his hand to take the body wash. He squeezed decent amount into his hand and started massaging his wife's shoulders.
Akshara sighed and leaned back, letting him have his way with her.
"Abhi.."
"Hmm.."
"We will cross the bridge when we get there. There is no point thinking now." She spoke softly but when she got only a nod in response, she is annoyed. Why can't she just divert his attention.
"Abhi!!" She scowled.
"Haa. Yahi hu mai Akshara. Chilla kyu rahi ho?"
"You are not giving me enough attention. Did I not order you to give into my every whim the day before? You just don't love me anymore. You aren't even taking my side infront of bhaiyya. You are always on bhaiyya's side. Can't I have my husband on my side? You didn't talk to me for a whole day. ......." She went on and on until she is out of breathe. She looked at her husband, who was looking too relaxed for a man getting a lecture from his wife.
"Hogaya? You got your fill? Feeling relaxed? Now go get dressed. Arav bhi tumse better behave karta hai, Akshara. I am now confused if he is learning from you or you are learning from him! Saare idiots mere hi ghar pe hai." With that, he got up from the tub, water cascading down his toned body. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist, securing it before walking out.
Akshara was in her own world and completely forgot that she had a check up. She was happy that he got out of that zone and even more happy that she got onto her extremely patient husband's nerves. She was feeling bratty than usual.
Only when she stepped down the stairs and smelled that aroma of her favourite food cooked by her Bhaiyya, she realised what was awaiting her.
Whenever Aryan made that particular dish, she most often than not ended up doing something she never wanted to. That never boded well for her. She was all set to take a U-turn and march straight into the safety of her room but Aryan's eyes fell on her and she is gridlocked.
As if that wasn't enough, her husband walked behind her. She sighed and gave into her fate.
By the time she reached hospital, everything was ready. Ajay had gone early to make sure everything was in place. Her devarJi wanted to perform her tests himself if it wasn't for Abhay. Ajay however volunteered to assist him in case of need. Gowri was around too. No one but family were involved during this check up. Such over protectiveness suffocated her but she is used to it by now. At least she is happy to not face this on a daily basis. It happened once in a while and she learnt to keep a straight face and go on with it.
2 Weeks passed in a haze for Birla Family. Arav and Aryan left to Udaipur, a week ago and the house never felt that empty. But they are getting used to it. Abhimanyu felt like flying to Udaipur for 1000 times in a week's span but he somehow stayed put. If not for hourly video calls and minute-ly updates, he wouldn't have stayed in peace. For now, he only felt gratitude that Anya and Ajay didn't ask of that from him.
