I opened the door to Cooper's room with a cupcake in my hand. It has a cute blue candle in the shape of a five. Because my baby is turning five!
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Cooper, happy birthday to you!" I sing as I sit down at the edge of Cooper's bed.
I turn on the small light on the wall.
Coop opens his eyes and smiles as he sees me. "Is it today already?"
"It is. And it's not just any day, it's your birthday!"
We had this tradition where Chris and I would wake the birthday girl or boy up together with a cupcake. That cupcake had the a candle with the digit of their new age.
Now I gotta do this alone.
"I'm a full hand old now!" He holds up his hand.
"You are! Are you gonna blow out your candle and make a wish?"
"Yes." He got a good wish in his head and blew the candles out.
"What did you wish for buddy?"
"I can't tell you! Then it won't come true!"
"Oh yeah, I forgot. Let's get ready shall we?"
He chose his favorite blue and white jacket with a white shirt and dark blue jeans.
