*May*
I was standing in Chris's dressing room, waiting on him to come off stage. Tonight is closing night for Lobby Hero. AKA the nigth he's finally allowed to shave the mustache.
Chris and I were started to talk again, not like lovers but like friends. I know that isn't the place he wants us in but for now I'm good with it.
He turned back into the amazing and sweet Chris I remember. Riley and Matthew still don't want anything to do with him but Cooper is starting to ask for him again.
He's 5, I can't blame him for wanting his dad. He doesn't know what was going on. And it's better that way anyways, I don't wanna traumatize a five year old.
Chris walked into the dressing room with a big bouquet of flowers. He smiled as he saw me, he didn't know that I was here. The play ended 10 minutes ago and I rushed out of my seat to be here.
"You came?"
"Of course I came. You didn't see me in the audience?"
"No." He put the flowers on a side table and hugged me tight. "Thank you for coming, Sunny." He whispered into my hair.
"How can I miss it? It's a big evening for you."
"Well I missed a lot of big evenings for you the past two years, I don't deserve it that you're here."
I shrugged. "Hm, I doubt that."
Chris pulled away and grabbed the flowers. "For you." He said as he held them out.
"Chris you worked hard for those."
"Yeah and you worked hard for our children. Just accept the damn flowers and make me happy."
I chuckle and accept the flowers. "They smell delicious." I say with a smile.
"I'm gonna get out of this thing." He says, pointing to his police uniform.
"And shave the mustache?"
"Hm, I might keep it. I like it when people don't recognize me because of it." I give him puppy eyes, knowing damn well that he can't say no to that. "I was kidding, Sunny, of course I'm gonna shave it."
"Thank God."

Chris changed into a red flannel and black jeans. He sat down next to me and placed his hand on my thigh. He moved his hand up and down, he only does this when he's anxious.
"What's up?"
"Well, I, uhh."
"Chris you don't have to be awkward right now. I know there's a lot of tension and stuff but we've seen each other during some weird shit. No awkwardness is needed."
I know his anxiety and I also know that he needs to be distracted now. He needs to leave his head.
"Tell me about the weird shit." He says with a smile.
"Well when I was carrying your kids and crying all the damn time, I was fucking annoying. When I gave birth, all three times were messy. When we met each other we were both going through puberty. The 2000s, that was weird. When I was as skinny as a stick and had to force feed me or else I would die from hunger. And probably a lot more that I forgot."
"You weren't annoying when you were pregnant, Sunny. How many times do I have to tell you that. It was beautiful to watch. And yeah you cried a lot, but that's normal."
"You're getting out of your head, good job."
"Thanks. I needed to ask you something. I'm more nervous than I was 20 years ago."
