Part 19

Shubman's Pov
"Don't worry aunty, I am here" I said assuring aunty as she had to leave for school because they had an important meeting.

"So sorry Shubman, I don't know why we are having meeting in the vacations" She said feeling guilty while I sighed.

"Aunty you can't help it right? Stop feeling guilty. I am here." I said reassuring her while she smiled faintly.

"But it will be evening by the time I return and she is so sick" She said her voice filled with concern.

"Aunty, I am here with her, I promise I would try my best" I said firmly while she smiled.

She patted my head

"Thank you so much beta; I can't even describe how I am feeling right now" She said wiping her eyes which were wet by now.

"Come on aunty, now go you are getting late" I said as I side hugged her.

Taking her bag, she left the house while I closed the door.
I moved upstairs, and entered inside her room, to see if she was awake or not. But there was she,covered with duvet,lying in a deep slumber.

As I moved closer to her and sat on the bed, I crased her cheeks, which were heated because of fever.

I touched her forehead only to found it still burning, she was having high fever since last night.
I kissed her forehead gently, holding her hands.

"Maa" She muttered in pain while I looked at her with concern.

"My head is paining" She muttered, her eyes half open, her voice barely above a whisper which clearly showed that she was not in consciousness.

I gently massaged her head while she snuggled into me.

Her usual raidant skin was pale now, her soft lips were dry, my alarm rang which reminded me that it was the time of her medicines.

Going to the kitchen, I took some fruits and prepared soup as she can't have medicines with empty stomach.
I entered her room, and kept the plate on the side table.

"Shinchan baby wake up" I said as soft as I could, my voice barely above a whisper, while she stirred in her slumber.

Opening her eyes a little, she glanced at me, smiling faintly, she tried to sit straight while I helped her.

"Good morning" She said; her usual elated voice was dull right now , while she tried hard to keep her eyes open.

I kissed her forehead while she came down of the bed and entered the washroom.
After few minutes, she sat again on the bed and rested her head on my shoulders.

Her eyes were red and they seemed heavy.
As I kept a piece of apple in front of her, she made a face and moved her head in no.

"Shinchan, you have to eat it, otherwise you can't have your medicines" I said softly while she sighed.

"I do not want to eat anything" She muttered snuggling into me, while I craesed her back.

"Just a little" I pleaded on which she nodded slightly.

I made her eat some fruits and a little soup and then she had her medicines.

"Shubi my head is paining a lot" She muttered and I touched her head, the temperature had rose suddenly which made me panic

I took out the thermometer from the drawer and checked her temperature.
And it was 101.

As she lyed down, I went downstairs in the kitchen and took out chilled water in bowl.Putting some ice in it, I went upstairs, entered inside her room, took out a piece of cloth, dipped it inside the bowl and placed it on her forehead.
