(r u tired of my time skips yet?)
2 months later... Del-Health; 10:30 A.M.
Iyla has been at her best that she ever remembers, she was excelling in her work, she was happier with herself, not that she ever was unhappy with herself, just... more happiness. She hasn't had any horrible anxiety, and to Iyla, that's a lottery win, because she could never go a day without talking to her therapist. Lately, she hasn't needed more than one session every other week. She felt like she could function a little easier, lately. Iyla was against anxiety medication, because the first time she was ever diagnosed with severe anxiety, she was immediately suggested medication that made her feel like a shell of a human being. She loved her therapist, she has had the same therapist since she was seventeen, she gave her so many tips, recommendations, helpful tools. Anyways, she was currently moving her things into a bigger office, because there was a few new hires, and they needed the offices closer to the front, so Iyla was given an office that was a decent size bigger than her other one, and she was doing her moving while the higher ups, new recruits, and people of necessity were in a meeting, Olivia chose an investor, so, some of the people who were working in Del-Health, were being transferred to the sister facility to help with the transition. Iyla knew she was getting the new office last week, so, she immediately started ordering herself things to make it feel nice, and like her. She was shopping all weekend, and she even got a cute little area rug for under her desk. When she had opened the office door, and set down the first box of things she was bringing over from her other office, she flicked on the lights and she saw her desk was already set up, a brand new rose-gold iMac, matching keyboard, a monitor to the right and left of it, the chair was nice comfy and black, and there was a small pink and sparkly gift bag sitting on the corner of the desk, she smiled to herself, walking towards the desk and opening up the bag, she first pulled out the small card, opening it and recognizing his handwriting, she grinned. 'Enjoy your new office, pretty girl.'
Iyla told Victor no special treatment, and she wanted to be mad at him, but, she was really feeling this new comp set up. She loved her little laptop and her set up she had that she could take down and move around, but, this felt so secure, and much more efficient for when she is working multiple offices at once. She reached into the bag again, pulling out one of those mini Squishmallows, it was an Axolotl, and it was so freaking cute. She adored it, and she made sure to sit him right on the corner of her desk, the card standing up next to it, and she moved the little gift bag to the box of her things on the ground by the door.
"Okay," she sighs, hands on her hips as she stood in the middle of the office, looking around. She started by moving over to the desk again, carefully dragging it to be kiddy-cornered in the back corner of her office, so she had a clear view of any and everything, able to look up when someone comes in, she slid the chair into its respective space, now she was back in the middle of the office, looking down at her feet. "There." she smiled, stepping back, and she decided instead of under her desk, the area rug would be in the middle of the office, she had slightly more room now that the desk was in the corner. After multiple trips back and forth to her car, she had gotten her black plush rug, two big ferns that sat in the corner of each side of the big window that looked into her office, she had brought a tall lamp with three lights and put it in the corner opposite of her desk, she had curtains but, the window was too high, so, she would ask for Victor's help later on. She was just about finished with the first part of her decorating, but, now she needed to get at least some work done in one of her accounts. She had shuffled the last little box from her previous office to the side, grabbing her work bag, and going to sit in her new chair, pulling out her two notepads, her HCPCS books. She started to set up her computer, putting in all her work information, logging into the businesses she handles for verifications and coding, and then on another monitor she placed the account she does billing for. She got comfortable in her seat, and she started making calls, setting up Prior Authorizations where needed, she did as much work as her body would physically let her for the past two and a half hours, before it let her know it needed sustenance to continue, and, that meant she could go get coffee at Mae's, and see Gina. She started to get her things together, and grabbed her purse, reattaching her badge to her waistband, and she put her comp set into sleep mode. She slid her purse over her shoulder and put her phone in the pocket of her scrubs and she started to leave, closing the office door behind her so everyone knew she was out, she started to walk towards the exit, saying her hello's to anyone who was around, she hadn't heard from Victor yet, but, she was sure he would get to her as soon as he wasn't busy. Which is always a fun cat and mouse game of calling and texting hours apart. She kept going forward, passing the meeting hall, and she didn't see anyone in there at first glance, but, she swore she could feel someone looking at her.
