Morgan's POV

"Be cool mom" I tell her, looking over at her excited form in the passenger seat.

The closer we got, the more excited she has been. Now that we are parked in the parking lot of the baseball fields, I can't get her to calm down.

It's been 2 weeks since I've last seen Beckett, and I think I'm just as excited as she is in a way.

Audrey has been keeping me updated on how things are going in his life. Along with a few random facetime's here and there if they have the time, Audrey unexpectedly had to explain  exactly who I was to Beckett the other night.

Apparently, Beckett had heard Austin and Audrey fighting the other night, and without realizing that he was still awake, Austin said something about me being his dad. It wasn't until Audrey went up to check on him that she realized that he had heard everything.

That was one distraught phone call I was not expecting to get.

Of course, I don't like the fact that I wasn't around to answer any questions he might have had, and I damn sure don't like the fact that they were fighting where Beckett could hear them.

Not that it's my place to say anything anyways.

Audrey doesn't seem like the kind of person that likes confrontation in the first place, my best guess is that Austin was pissed about something regarding me coming into town and just blew up.

Audrey ended up letting Beckett talk to me over facetime the next day, where I assured him that I'm not going anywhere, nor do I expect him to call me dad anytime soon.

"I'm trying son, I'm just excited" she responds.

I let out a chuckle, before turning off the truck.

"Let's get this show on the road then" I tell her.

The two of us grab our stuff, before heading towards the fields.

When we get to the field, I see Audrey and Beckett by the dugout in the exact same position they were last week.

"Oh Morgan she's beautiful, and he looks just like you, with a hint of Ash in him" mom whispers as we approach the pair.

"You guys good?" I ask, pulling them from the conversation.

Audrey looks up at me, a thankful smile on her face.

"Someone needs another pep talk" Audrey responds, before standing up from her kneeling position.

"I got it, why don't you two go get situated with your mom. I'll be over there in a minute" I tell her.

Audrey gives me a nod, before kissing the top of Beckett's head and switching places with me.

Audrey's POV

"It's so nice to finally meet you, Audrey. I'm Lesli, Morgan's mama" Lesli introduces, as soon as I step away from Beckett and Morgan.

"I've been looking forward to meeting you as well" I respond, letting her wrap her arms around me.

"Why don't we let them talk, I'd love to meet your mom" Lesli suggests.

I give her a nod, before starting the walk over to our regular spot near the fence.

"Morgan seems to be good with Beckett already. I want to thank you for giving both of us the chance to be in his life. I'm sure it's not easy having things like this happen, but you seem to be taking it like a champ" Lesli says.

I give her a nod, "I'm just happy you guys are willing to accept him into your lives, I'm sure it was a shock to find out about him. Morgan is great with him though, he helped him last time he was at a game, I just think with everything going on Beckett is just out of it right now. Hopefully Morgan will be able to help him" I respond.

"Well, just so you know, from here on out both Beckett and you are family" Lesli tells me, as we approach my mom.

As soon as those words left her, I felt an instant peace come over me knowing that not only Beckett, but myself as well were excepted into his family.

After a brief introduction, the three of us, along with Cara are chatting when my dad comes up to the fence, a confused look on his face. At the same time, Morgan is walking towards us with a proud smile on his face.

Guess that conversation went well.

"Aud, where is Austin? I thought he was coming with you guys today" my dad asks, leaning against the fence in front of us.

"Hopefully in a hole somewhere" Cara mumbles, before letting out a yelp when I elbow her in the stomach.

I look up at my dad, a sad expression on my face.

"I don't think he's coming today daddy, we're not in a good place right now. I texted him this morning and asked him if he was still coming, but he just read it and didn't respond. I tried to call him when we got here too, but he didn't answer" I tell him.

"Carson isn't going to make it today, so we're down two coaches" my dad responds, letting out a sigh.

Morgan clears his throat, sitting up in his chair some.

"I can do it. It's been a while since I've coached, or really played for that matter, but I still remember everything about the game" Morgan states.

"You don't have to do that. I know you guys came down here to watch Beckett play, you should enjoy that" my dad responds.

"I'd enjoy being out there with him just as much" Morgan tells him.

My dad gives me a look, almost as if he's asking for my permission, knowing that if Austin did inevitably show up it was going to be a big fuss.

I didn't care about that though.

Austin lost his chance to get mad about that when he didn't show up, seeing as how we are just a few minutes out from the start of the game.

Giving my dad a small smile and a nod, he turns to Morgan, a thankful smile on his face.

"If you're sure about it, get in here. We have to line up for the start here soon" my dad tells him.

Morgan gives him a nod, before standing up from his seat and sprinting towards the dugout.

I look over at Lesli, who has a proud smile on her face watching as Morgan and my dad stand in the center of the field talking.

"That boy of mine has taken quite well to fatherhood if I do say so myself" she says.

"I agree" I tell her.

Throughout the game, I watch as Morgan interacts with not only Beckett, but the other boys on the team. He's proving himself to not only me, but everyone around us, showing us that he's accepting this new role with great strides.

I know it's only the beginning, but I can't wait to see where we all go from here.
