Audrey's POV
"Are you sure I should be here? Maybe I should just leave for a little while, let all of you guys spend time together" I ask Morgan, wringing my hands together nervously.
"Audrey, they want to meet you too, not just Beckett" Morgan responds, letting out a small chuckle.
Today was the day I've been most nervous about, Morgan was taking the two of us over to his parents house so that Beckett could meet the rest of his family. While I've met his mom and the two of us get along amazingly, I'm worried about how the rest of his family will react.
Not to mention, I've done my best at masking everything that happened yesterday, not only for my sake, but for Beckett's as well. Which means putting on a smile and acting like nothing is going on, that's a problem for another time.
However, it seems like Morgan could tell something was wrong from the moment that we stepped foot onto his property. He's constantly looking at me, checking on me, and even told me to go to bed early last night, stating that he wanted to do Beckett's bedtime routine with him just the two of them.
On top of everything else, Austin has been trying to get a hold of me since we got into town last night.
I haven't picked up a single call from him. Maybe there's a part of me that wants to just live in a bubble of unawareness for now, a bubble that is drama free and happy.
However, I know that I will have to deal with him as soon as we get home Tuesday.
"Okay, okay, let's do this" I tell him, before following him into the house.
As soon as Morgan opens the front door, all eyes are on us. I feel Morgan's hand grip my shoulder as he leads the three of us in.
Morgan's POV
Watching Beckett run around my parents backyard with my nieces and nephews, I can't help the smile that comes to my face.
As soon as he walked through the door, his cousins immediately took him into the backyard to play, and that's where they have been ever since. He's not the only one that quickly became part of the family though.
Looking to the other side of the yard, I spot Audrey, throwing her head back, laughing at something my sisters said to her.
As soon as I introduced the three of them, they haven't left each other's side, something that makes me happier than anything.
I can tell something has been up with Audrey since they got here yesterday, however she is a pro at hiding her feelings around Beckett.
While I've wanted to find out exactly what was going on, I've left it alone figuring that if she really needed someone to talk to, she would say something.
"They both fit in really well Morgan" My mama tells me, sitting in the chair next to me.
"That's what I was hoping" I respond.
Mama sighs, before setting her phone down on the table in front of us.
"Audrey's mom texted me a little while ago, wanted to check in on both of them, but mostly Audrey. Apparently, her and that boyfriend of hers got into an argument before they left to come up here yesterday, he gave her an ultimatum, and she shut it down. They broke up" mama tells me.
As soon as mama and Mrs. Tiffany met, they became as thick as thieves, to the point that they spend hours on the phone at a time talking, and not just about Beckett either.
Hell, Tiffany and Chipper invited the entire family to a game at the park, which of course they accepted.
I can't hide the shocked look on my face as mama tells me that, it explains the sadness hidden behind Audrey's eyes.
"She didn't mention that" I respond.
Mama pats my hand, before looking in Audrey's direction.
"Tiffany said she wanted this weekend to be about you and Beckett, and that she didn't want her drama to get in the way of the two of you spending time together, I get it from a mama's perspective. This time is precious" mama tells me.
A smile comes to mama's face, "why don't we keep Beckett for the night, we were already planning on keeping all of the kids so that the adults can get a night. You guys go out, let her have a night just for herself" mama suggests.
"I'll bring it up to Audrey when I get a second, that is if I can get her alone for a minute" I respond.
"Audrey! Can you come here for a minute sweetheart" mama asks, yelling across the yard.
Guess we are doing this now.
Audrey sets her drink down in the cup hold of her chair before walking in our direction, a smile on her face as she ruffles Beckett's hair in passing.
"Sweetheart, I was planning on keeping the kids for the night. Would you mind if I kept Beckett as well?" Mama asks.
"I wouldn't want to impose like that" Audrey responds.
Mom waives her off, "nonsense. I would love to spend some more time with that little guy. Morgan get's him all weekend, grandma wants some time too" mama responds.
Audrey looks at me, "it's up to you Morgan" Audrey tells me.
"I think he would have fun. Mama's right. I get him all weekend, let him spend some time over here with everyone else. Us adults can find something to do together, seeing as how my sisters have kept you pretty occupied all afternoon" I tell her.
Audrey smiles, before nodding her head.
"I'm sure he would love to stay, we just need to get him some clothes and his toothbrush" Audrey says.
"I'll run back to the house in a bit to grab it, don't worry about a thing" I respond.
Audrey nods, before walking back over to where my sisters are.
"You're falling for her aren't you son?" mama asks.
"It's hard not to mama, it's really hard not to" I tell her.
