Mist City Part 16: Kanemizu Finale

Yasu was currently recovering from the fight against Shiki and Kanae waited for him at his bedside table. He was resting, until the Kakushi came into the room.

Kakushi: Kocho-sama. Please move. We're going to administer some medicine to Tatsukami-Sama.

Kanae: Ok.

She moves and they administer some medicine. Kanae got out of the fight with only a few bruises and some minor scratches. She easily recovered. But Takeyasu had quite an amount of poison taken in due to getting 2 poison blades into his system. He wouldn't die, but he was extremely weak.

Suddenly, Hitoshi walks with a cane to the room and looks over his "granddaughter in law", and looks over his grandson. Yoko comes inside as well to look at the two.

Yoko: Hooded nurses? Will he come back?

Kakushi: Maybe, we're administering an antitoxin to remove the poison in his body. But he has the most poison in his system compared to everyone else.

Hitoshi: Just please save him!

The Kakushi nodded as they give Yasu antitoxins to kill the disease in his body. Kanae then talks to Hitoshi about Yasu's ordeal.

Kanae: Yasu loved his family so much. But he thought that you never cared for Ryuji.

Hitoshi: On the contrary. Ryuji was one of the brightest sons we ever had. When I saw he could be more, I kept pushing him, but he would just keep upping the ante. Then he would soon start his own business of construction materials.

Kanae: Amane told you Yasu ran a blacksmith shop.

Hitoshi: Yes, with 3 other people before 2 of them left.

They just stare at Yasu as Hitoshi continues to talk.

Hitoshi: Kanae? You're his future wife. Maybe you can explain why he's always running off.

Kanae: I..... think it's best if he says it. He's all you have left of Ryuji, isn't he? And....Yasu has always loved to adventure. Whenever we went adventuring, he never felt so alive. That gloomy outlook turned happy.

Yoko: And can you also explain why he is so........negative?

Kanae: That I can explain. Yasu loves his friends and family so much, that if they die, it takes such a toll on him. He hides it all behind a stone face. If you want, we'll visit you more often!

Hitoshi: Maybe......but.....I think he's happier doing whatever treasure hunting and archaeology work you both are doing with my daughter Amane.

Suddenly, Yasu coughs and hacks up a bit before getting up from his bed. He waves to his grandparents and actual lover this time.

Takeyasu: Hi.

Kanae and Yoko give him a big hug but make sure not to give him a big one since he was still worn out from fighting Shiki. Hitoshi then comes to his grandson filled with remorse.

Hitoshi: Hi, Yasu.

Takeyasu: Grandfather, I have something to tell you.

Hitoshi: So do I. But you go first.

Takeyasu: Ok. You know how I said I'm an archaeologist? I'm actually what's called a demon slayer. We fight multiple monsters known as demons in an attempt to prevent the world from knowing about them and the harm each demon causes. Every running out was to explore Kanemizu and get a feel for the place. 50% of the time was because this is Kanae's first time in Kanemizu.

Kanae chuckles at the fact that most of the exploration and running to explore was out of her own accord, but he continued on.

Takeyasu: But mom and dad along with our servants died from demons. You never found out because I never told you or found you to tell you.
