Mist City Part 17: An Old Friend

Note: Yamato's name is now Mayuto. I want him to differ from Yoriichi a bit and there it is.

Takeyasu was sending a message to Tanjiro's family since they needed farm fresh items and charcoal. And he Kamado Family had all of those things. Kanae was currently walking in on her lover as she saw him writing a letter.

Kanae: What are you doing, Yasu?

Takeyasu: I'm writing a letter to a friend. Uncle needs coal and farm items, and I know these people. I'd be happy to help out. But I'm going to have to go on my own.

Kanae: I'll come with you!

Takeyasu: Kanae, no. I don't want to cause trouble for you or them.

Kanae: I promise you, I'll be polite. Please. Please?

She was pleading with her lover so that she can visit his friends. Takeyasu sighed and complied.

Takeyasu: Ok.

Kanae: Yay! Thank you, Yasu!

She kisses his cheek and leaves as Takeyasu writes his letter to the Kamado family. It was mainly an order for Tanjiro and his family. To sweeten the deal, he'd pay double what Tanjiro priced.

Takeyasu: Ok. Now Amatobi, be quiet. Deliver this to a boy with black and red hair. Go!

Once he gets the letter, he nods and flies off to the Kamado's house. Amatobi was flying off fast so the Kamado's could get his order.

Minutes later.

Tanjiro: Goodnight, dad. Goodnight, mom.

Sumire! Goodnight, everyone!

Everyone: Goodnight, Tanjiro!

Soon, Sumire and Tanjiro meet in the kitchen as everyone starts to sleep. As everyone sleeps, Tanjiro clears the table of dirty dishes while Sumire washes them. Her hand was covered in filth and food while Tanjiro wiped the table.

Sumire: Ah. Tanjuro's doing better. The medicine I got worked.

Tanjiro: Yes, but Sumire? There's no need to risk your life for us every time.

Sumire: You guys are like my second family. Of course I would.

Tanjiro: Yes, but there are also other problems. We have food and water and a sturdy roof with another house, but we don't have any money.

Sumire: Yeah. Wish it would just fall out of the sky, but when would that happen?

Soon, a crow comes in and Sumire takes the letter.

Sumire: It's from Mr. Tatsukami.

Tanjiro: Read it.

Once they get the letter, Tanjiro gets some bread and gives it to Amatobi. He pecks at it while they read off of the letter.

Takeyasu: *letter* Dear Tanjiro. I'm in a bind, so I need these items. Charcoal, potatoes, potato seeds, grain and grain seeds, and rice. No seeds for the last crop. Do all that and I'll offer double your typical price. I'll come by noon tomorrow.

Sumire: Huh. I'm gonna keep asking that from now on.

Tanjiro: We have to get started early next morning!

Sumire: Ok.

Next day.

Takeyasu was feeding Chana and going through his money in his kimono. He needed to make sure he had enough money for Tanjiro's costs and everything. Kanae soon packs her sword and prepares for the trip.
