Leo (Chapter 4)

Leo was exhausted. Everyone told him he should rest but he just kept saying stuff like, nah the Leonator doesn't need sleep, or he would just say he would go to sleep eventually. He didn't want to be the reason why his friends got hurt. If he was sleeping, and someone else was taking watch, he was scared something would happen and they would have to deal with the ship. Leo realized how stupid that sounded though... The ship would be able to hold itself long enough until Leo got there.

Everyone was asleep. Everyone had someone. On the other hand, Leo has Festus. A machine's company isn't exactly the same as another human's...

Percy and Annabeth were together of course... Piper and Jason; man his best friend. He wasn't jealous or anything, he was used to it. Well Hera made it seem like that. Something was going on between Frank and Hazel. Even creepy Nico had his sister. Leo hated thinking like that though. He's only fifteen; he doesn't need to date. Well demigods don't always live that long...

Leo shook his head. Don't think like that man. Leo started twiddling with his thumbs and soon pulled out bolts and metal pieces of scrap. After tweaking it with some added features, a mini penguin started waddling around. 

Leo looked up as he heard the footsteps of someone nearing.

"What are you still doing up?" Hazel walked in her pyjamas. Hazel was the last person he wanted to see. Why can't she go and bug Frank or something. He couldn't handle being around her since she told him he reminded her of his great-grandfather. 

Leo smirked. "Oh you know, just working on these guns." He pulled up his sleeve and flexed his arm. Of course there wasn't much since he was graced with his scrawny frame. Who was he kidding? He obviously couldn't compare to Percy or Jason... Heck even Frank!

"Okay." Hazel smiled and sat near the metal penguin that kept on waddling. "So is this all he does? Just-"

Immediately the penguin coughed a ball of fire that floated through the air and slowly dissolved. 

"I take that back."

"Why are you still up? Couldn't resist all this?" Leo said motioning to himself. 

Hazel laughed, "No, couldn't sleep." They sat in silence besides the crashing of the waves against the ship. "How much farther until we get to Italy?"

"About a day. Maybe less. Depends on you know... monsters." Leo got up from where he sat. The sun was starting to rise. Leo squinted; it looked like there was a giant shadow in the distance on some land. "Hazel, come and look at this."

"Is that smoke? Leo, can you pull up some sort of map. I want to know what that island is."

Leo pressed a button and a screen rose. "Well we're in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, technically, there shouldn't be an island or any land there."

"I'm going to go wake up the others." Hazel said and quickly ran off. Not too long later, the rest of the demigods joined Leo.

"Holy Hephaestus!" Leo exclaimed as the ship jerked to the right. Leo ran up to the controls and tried to do something. "I-I don't know what's happening. Percy can you try something?" Leo said in hope Percy could manipulate the current.

Percy touched the ship and closed his eyes in concentration. Nothing happened. Unless you count the other tug the ship made toward the misterious island. "It's not the water. I can't control." Leo looked at Percy's helpless face. He's never seen the guy so worried before.

Jason moved forward with Piper by his side. "What's going on? That can't be Italy."

"No, it's not. And I don't know. We were just sitting here-" Leo started to say.

"We?" Frank said.

"Uh-Hazel and I." Leo said while awkwardly looking at Hazel. Nico stepped forward but didn't say anything; he merely raised his eyebrow at his sister.

"Oh, okay." Frank replies and castes his eyes down.

"Frank it isn't-" Hazel walked over to Frank when the ship came into contact with land. Hazeel flew across the room and knocked herself out against a table. 

"Hazel!" Frank and Nico and exclaimed. They couldn't reach her since they too were thrown and went unconscious. 

"Sweet Lord Hera, what could be doing this?" Leo grasped onto a wall in hope of not tumbling around.

"It's like the island is the sun and the Argo II is being pulled in by its gravitational circle." Annabeth said clutching onto Percy.

"Can we get out of it?" Piper responded. She too clung to someone-Jason.

"No."

A/N

Okay I'm sorry. I didn't update yesterday cuz I had like 300 words. I only have like 750 here so it's a shorter chapter... I'll try and make a better chapter tomorrow. I'LL START ON IT NOW! 

I've been busy in the mornings  since I started something new; I've been logging my dreams and I actually start remembering things better the next morning. It took me forty minutes to type last night's dream! I think I had seven parts I remembered...

Anyway I love Leo. He's so cute and funny. That's why I picked him for the fanart. (This picture goes perfectly well with the chapter too!) It's by Viria on deviantart.com (I love the art he/she does!)
