The morning was a blur for Jisung. He was woken up, told to get ready quickly and dragged out the house to drive around the city.
He was now in Eun's car, having to listen to his obnoxious singing that didn't match the song on the radio as they drove around to make sure there were no crimes being committed. And if there were, to save the day and be the heroes, though the elder was really the only one they acknowledged and thanked for his work.
The younger was bored, just looking out the window at the busy world passing by. That is, until he saw him.
Unmistakable short, black hair, pale skin, red plump lips that were once illuminated by the soft glow of a lighter. He was leaning on the wall outside the tobacco shop, holding a cigarette and staring directly at Jisung, who gasped and sat up quickly upon seeing him.
"Stop the car!" He exclaimed, not waiting and taking off his seatbelt. The boy jumped out, running off in the direction of where he saw him.
"Sorry! Excuse me! Coming through!" He said, squeezing between people and trying his best not to push them out the way. He arrived at the shop, disappointed to only find a squashed but still smoking cigarette on the ground.
Internally he groaned, at himself for not being fast enough and at everyone else for getting in his damn way. A hand landed on his shoulder making him jump and turn around.
"What the fuck was that Jisung?" Eun asked him, angry he had to park the car and run after him.
"I-I just thought that, um, I saw," he gulped, "the criminal we killed a few days ago." His voice got quieter as he finished the sentence, looking down. The elder scoffed at him.
"God Jisung, I knew you had an imagination but, seriously? Seeing dead people?" He laughed.
"You need to work on your jokes!" He said happily before taking the youngers hand and pulling him back to the car. Jisung was upset that he had disregarded him so easily but let himself be pulled and placed in the car.
He crossed his arms, looking out the window again with searching eyes. He scanned the place, but the other was nowhere to be found.
They drove around longer, Eun stopping and going into random buildings to check if everything was alright along the way. Each time, while he waited, Jisung could swear that he spotted the familiar hair moving through the crowd, but it was always gone just as fast as he had seen it.
The door slammed and the elder looked at him confused as the boy was sat at the edge of the seat, peering at the crowd and oblivious to his surroundings.
"Jisung, what the fuck are you doing?" He asked, a tired and annoyed tone laced in his words. The youngers eyes didn't move.
"I thought I saw him." He mumbled, making the other pinch the bridge of his nose.
"Jisung, please, stop with this bullshit. You are not seeing him, he is dead. If you spend any more time searching for him, you'll look like a madman. End of conversation." He stated, starting up the car.
"But-" The boy started, getting cut off.
"End. Of. Conversation."
Jisung pouted, sitting back in his seat as a flash of that black hair appeared in his peripheral vision. This time, he ignored it, worried about making his lover mad at him.
That didn't last long though.
At the next stop, Eun started getting out, turning around last minute to look at his boyfriend.
"No looking for that stupid hallucination. Got it?" Jisung nodded, looking down at his fiddling hands. And he did do that...for a couple of minutes at least.
Through the window, a small smoke trail caught his eye. He sat up, face close to the window as he followed the trail as it led his eyes to a cigarette, held in a hand that belonged to a certain black-haired boy that should be dead.
He gasped, covering his mouth. The other looked at him, smirking slightly before looking away and taking a drag from his cigarette.
Without thinking, Jisung opened the door and left, feet leading him towards the boy. His eyes centered on him as he moved through the crowd, determined to not let him out of his sight. Just as he was close by, a guy moved in front of him, cutting off his eyesight.
When he returned to look at the spot, no one was there.
"Fuck." He cursed to himself quietly.
He spun around, scanning the crowd for any sign of the boy. Not finding anything, he started in a random direction, hoping it would be the one he took as well.
He walked around more, head spinning like crazy in hopes of finding this man. To be honest, he didn't even know why, he just...had to. Something was drawing him to the boy.
Whether it was for answers, or something else, he didn't know.
He kept speed walking towards this boy, desperate to not lose him in the crowd again when he felt a tug on his arm. He spun around, immediately being dragged somewhere.
He freaked out slightly but calmed down a bit when Eun let go of him in the back of a small alley way.
"Jesus Eun, you scared m-"
"WHAT DID I JUST TELL YOU NOT TO DO?" He yelled, making the younger freeze. The elder stepped closer, causing Jisung to step back towards the wall.
"I TOLD YOU NOT TO GO CHASING AFTER A HALLUCINATION! BUT WHAT DID YOU DO?" He yelled louder, glaring daggers at the small boy who stayed silent. After a moment of not speaking, Eun grabbed his cheeks hard, lowering his voice.
"I asked you a question." He spoke sternly. His boyfriend shivered, backing up further until he felt the rough bricks behind him, but the elder didn't let go.
"I-I ch-chased after a h-hallucination." He stuttered, avoiding his piercing gaze.
"That's right, you did. You and your idiot brain chased after a dead man who means nothing to us!" Something in Jisung snapped when he heard those words.
Quickly, he used his arm to swipe the hand gripping his jaw.
"I KNOW WHAT I FUCKING SAW EUN. HE ISN'T DEAD, AND YOU NEED TO GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD!" He yelled back, the fire in his eyes dying out as soon as he said the words.
"S-sorry." He apologized, looking down. The other looked at him with a blank expression.
"You need a fucking psychiatrist because you're clearly going insane." He said bluntly, turning and leaving to the car. Jisung followed, shuffling his feet with his head down and holding back tears.
He wasn't going insane, was he?
