Mina gasped for air as the room slowly became illuminated by the various candles scattered in the room. It resembled certain aspects of her bedroom in the abbey with the various books and the scattered guitar picks that Dew lost. There were various photographs on the nightstand that Mina didn't quite recognize straight away. The only one that she definitely knew was the one taken with Dew a few years back.
It was one of the very few times that Mina could convince Dew to take a photo together. As much as he loved the attention, photos weren't exactly his favorite. The other photographs were definitely of her but with a ghoul she didn't recognize. But he seemed awfully friendly with her and Mina was only really close with Dew so it didn't make much sense.
Mina's attention quickly turned to the feeling of her bed dipping slightly. Her breathing picked up as the figure moved closer up the bed towards her. A chill ran down the woman's spine as he slowly dragged the tip of his claw down her cheek. The candlelight illuminating the gray tone of his skin, Mina's heart skipping a beat as their eyes met. His stare was so intense, so full of curiosity and desire that Mina slide further back into the headboard. Nobody had ever looked at her like that, almost like they wanted to devour her.
It felt like her entire body had been set on fire as his lips touched her collarbone. She felt herself jolt once his fangs nipped at her unmarked skin. His arm wrapping tightly around her waist and pulling her against his chest. Mina gripped the sheet tightly as he slowly kissed up her neck, often times letting his fangs drag against the skin.
"I'm going to make you mine." Mina felt herself sinking into the plush bedspread as he leaned over her. The candles slowly began dimming as the darkness cascaded over the two of them. She could feel herself panicking once more before everything melted away. Leaving Mina standing alone, her eyes frantically searching for him and fear kicked in at the thought of being left behind once again.
Dew could feel himself dying of boredom, well not really but he imagined this is what it would be like. His attention span was that of a gnat honestly but he was giving it his best shot. After all, Mina had been asleep for what seemed like days. In all actuality, it was probably two or three give or take because he wasn't counting. But Dew was definitely getting worried that something really messed Mina up during the ritual. Mina had never passed out before nor did she ever look this pale before. Everyone was certain that she'd wake up eventually but this was getting a little ridiculous to him.
His attention slowly drifting off to the photograph on the nightstand before quickly diverting to the quickened breathing coming from Mina. She quickly sat upright from the bed, a hand on her chest to calm her quickened heartbeat. Slowly the room began to come into focus, Mina jumping back from how close Dew was at the moment. His head tilted to the side in curiosity while backing up to give his friend a little space.
"What happened? All I remember is cutting my palm and then things get a little blurry? Did it work?" Mina looked down at the bandaid covering the cut. Dew's choice in bandaid's causing her to giggle, the bright pink Hello Kitty ones were a nice touch.
"You've been out for days, Mina. It's been so fucking boring." Dew groaned. It wasn't like he was in charge of watching over her but he felt it was necessary. He cared for very few people in the abbey but Mina would always be one of them, not that he'd let her know that. It would damage his reputation of not caring and he couldn't have that.
"Days? I don't know what I did wrong?" Mina wrapped the blanket tightly around her as a comforting device. Nothing ever went wrong with the rituals before so what went wrong this time?
"You ever think it's because you overwork yourself, idiot." Dew hissed. She couldn't help but agree with him, an obvious flaw that she had and tried to overlook. Mina didn't know how to relax when it came to her duties in the church.
"Oh but the ritual definitely worked though, I've been teaching him a lot while you've been...gone." Dew never thought he'd be a good teacher but he felt Mina would be proud of him. After all, he took the new ghoul under his wing and taught him what he knew. Not that the ghoul was using it to his advantage.
"You've been what?" Mina was certain of one thing and that was that Dew should definitely not be training ghouls. Especially male ghouls at that. Dew smirked, his tail flickering excitingly at the prospects. After all, this new ghoul had zero interest in anything but meeting his little summoner.
"Let's face it, he's getting expert advice. I don't just give that shit out for free." Dew ignored the pointed glare coming from Mina. She could easily push the dream aside in favor of the intense worry building up inside. That poor ghoul was probably frightened from his summoning and got a first class lesson in fucking thanks to Dew.
"Where is he now?" Mina tossed the bedsheets aside in order to quickly get ready to fix Dew's possible mess. Granted she trusted Dew with her life but training a ghoul was a delicate situation in the church.
"Oh he'll find you before you do." Dew watched as Mina scrambled around the room. She definitely seemed more anxious than usual. He wasn't sure if it was the side effects of the ritual or for the situation at hand. Dew didn't teach him that bad, he hadn't really been given a chance considering Sister Imperator got to him first in Mina's absence.
"Is he doing okay adjusting?" Mina was definitely worried. But soon enough, she'd be able to help ease the ghoul into everyday life within the abbey and assist in any way possible. Something she was definitely good at and then she'd deal with what went wrong in the ritual.
"You can be the judge of that. I can't believe you're criticizing my teacher skills." Dew wasn't exactly surprised in this situation. He wasn't quite sure how Mina would fair with dealing with the new ghoul. Granted he did fine with all of them but his interest in knowing Mina unnerved him at first with the look he had in his eyes. But then Dew got the idea that the ghoul wanted her for other reasons. So he gave him all the information he at least had, after all Dew has known Mina for years.
Dew always said he was positive that Mina would eventually draw some ghouls attention. Now he just had to make sure she didn't run away from it.
