It was surprisingly very hard to arrange a meeting with Papa Emeritus especially when it was crucial. He spent a lot of his time wrapped up in paperwork or meetings organized by Sister Imperator. Mina rarely requested his presence because she understood how busy the man got but this was urgent. It had taken a few days to get in touch with him due to a pressing matter for the ministry. Something to do with making it into colored television? Mina didn't question it much, simply grateful that she snagged a meeting in the first place.
"Now if you could please just join the rest back in the den." Mina pleaded. Phantom leaned against the corridor wall with a sigh and shake of the head. He wasn't quite sure why his Mina was so adamant on being so independent. Dew hadn't warned him it would be this hard for her to crumble but for fucks sake, she was incredibly tough to crack.
"What if something goes wrong and I'm not here?" Phantom questioned. Mina paused wondering just what this ghoul thought could possibly go wrong with Papa. Well what more could go wrong with him being involved. After all, it seemed like Papa got her into this entire mess quite possibly but she needed his assistance to get out of it.
"Phantom, I highly doubt he will be a threat to me. I'll be perfectly safe." Mina tried to assure the doubtful ghoul. Not that it would probably do any good, Phantom seemed to be under the impression everything was a threat.
"Why can't I just stay with you?" Phantom huffed. He reached out tugging Mina into his chest, securing an arm tightly around her waist. It didn't make much sense to him that she felt it was necessary to stay away from him. He knew the ritual had worked but it could've been that she was unfortunately a human and couldn't quite feel it. And it was killing him that Mina resisted in fully sealing the deal but Phantom was extraordinary patient for a ghoul.
"I don't always need your help." Mina grimaced as some of the congregation stared at them while passing by. This was definitely not going to help her in getting Phantom to latch onto someone else.
"So you admit you do need me sometimes? I can help you with a lot tonight if you insist." Phantom purred. Mina tried to wiggle herself out of his grip while trying to avoid his intense gaze. It only caused him to softly grasp the side of her face and daringly kiss the corner of her mouth. A small gasp fell from her lips attempting to pull away before he furthered his teasing. She could hear his purring once he laid his head into the crook of her neck while slowly rubbing circles into her hip.
"Oh! Am I interuppting something, sister?" Mina could've kissed Papa's cheeks for being her saving grace. This was definitely not helping her case in keeping things one hundred percent professional. There was no way she was going to let a ghoul absolutely break her heart.
"My apologies, Papa. If you don't want to go back to the den, just stay here then okay?" Mina knew there was a high chance he'd wait for her. There was no way she'd argue with him in front of Papa. Plus Mina was doubtful that she'd win that argument anyways.
