Only the pitch darkness surrounded her, there was so much silence that it almost toyed with your mind. Sister Mina had felt absolutely petrified, the fear was suffocating and impossible to break free from. Her entire body felt like it had been set ablaze until slowly an icy chill crept up her spine extinguishing the fire. The slow beating of her heart reminded her that she wasn't quite dead, she was somehow floating in the ether.

Until suddenly her heart began beating wildly, the sound echoing loudly in her ears. Mina nervously blinked as her vision came back into focus. The crackling of the candles lit on the bedside table being the first thing she heard. Then came the sound of the soft purrs in her ear and the arms around her waist tightening. Mina nervously brought her hand closer to her face expecting blood but instead it was clean.

Phantom no longer had to await in agony if Mina was going to accept the transition. More so, he was just nervous about having to explain everything to her. He didn't prepare himself for the worst possibility because there was no way Mina would reject him. Phantom unraveled himself from Mina as she moved to sit up in the bed. The dizziness hadn't admittedly went away but the nausea was long gone which was a relief. Mina felt the squeeze of Phantom's hand in hers sending a wave of tranquility over her.

"Am I dreaming?" Mina whispered. It oddly felt like things were slowly clicking into place in her mind. The nervousness around Phantom was dwindling away, her apprehension to be near him being overcome with a need for him.

"Oh so you dream about me, baby?" Phantom teased. He expected her to brush him off with a roll of her eyes and ignore his teasing. Instead Mina only smiled feeling an odd sense of lightness, nothing was plaguing her about how wrong it was that he was there.

"I'm dead, aren't I?" Mina couldn't possibly believe that everything could be this serene. She was always concerned about this comfortable with Phantom. Or what else could possibly go wrong for her in the ministry. Oddly enough, Mina felt at complete peace and that could only mean death.

"You would've if I didn't save you." Phantom felt very nervous, he couldn't exactly help himself from blurting it all out. "Before you get angry, I had to mark you. I know it isn't ideal, I wanted to make it special for us but you were going to die and I couldn't let you go." Mina's reaction was exactly what he imagined. She looked frozen in thought, a million thoughts racing in her mind at the fact that no she was definitely alive and now marked.

"You marked me?" Mina was dumbfounded. It made complete sense that Phantom had marked her if he truly felt she was his mate. She had genuinely thought that he was just toying with her like any ghoul would with a human.

"It would've happened eventually. Lucifer destined for us to be together, I wasn't going to let you go." Phantom saw just how nervous Mina was getting before gently reaching out to caress her cheek. His tail softly wrapping around their conjoined hands hoping to offer some comfort. "I would protect you with my life." Mina surprisingly found herself scooting closer to him seeking his warmth.
