Chapter 1-1: A Traveler's Journal

***Library***

3rd POV:

"Nope... Not it either... That shelf ain't even the right genre. And I already checked that one over there... HEY, AZUL. I'M OVER THIS." Floyd says after looking through the books in the library. "I don't care if you're over it or not. You are to keep searching until we find what I'm looking for. Is that understood?" Azul demands. "Tch... I thought this would be an easy job. So much for that. If I'd known it'd suck this bad, I'd have made Jade trade places with me so I could run the Mostro Lounge instead." Floyd whines.

"What's all the hubbub, chums?" Lilia asks after appearing in front of Azul and Floyd, hanging upside down. "WHOA!" Azul says, getting jumpscared from Lillia's sudden appearance. "Hiya, Devilfishie." Floyd greets happily. "Hiya, Floyd. Hello to you as well, Azul. You should know better than to yell like that in a library." Lilia states. "YOU should know better than to startle people by popping up right in their face! *sigh* Look, I'm very busy at the moment. I'm searching for a certain traveler's journal." Azul says, unamused.

"A traveler's journal, you say?" Lilia asks. "Yup. Summer break's comin' up, right? It's longer than winter break, and we can go home to the Coral Sea this time of year. So we figure, why not swing by someplace we've never been before as well?" Floyd asks. "Oho, a vacation? That sounds delightful!" Lilia says excitedly.

"It's going to be for educational purposes, not leisure. I thought it would be a fine opportunity to learn more about land culture. I'm reading articles and travelogues that showcase the appeal of different places to narrow down my prospective destinations." Azul says before looking around again, "But the one book I was hoping would be the most useful is sold out at all the stores. I came to the library as a last-ditch effort, but so far I've had no luck...The title, for the record, is Strolling through Twisted Wonderland: A True Story."

"Ooh, yes, that's a fascinating one." Lilia states. "You've read it, Lilia?" Azul asks, a bit shocked. "Nope!" Lilia replies happily. "Nice. Way to totally contradict yourself." Floyd says. "If it's sold out, then it must be fascinating, right? Petty details aside...A traveler's journal, though... That piques my interest as an avid trip-taker myself. Perhaps we could enlist others to help search. I saw some likely candidates over there, I believe... Ah, there they are." Lilia says. "Yuu! C.C.! Grim! May we have a moment?" Lilia calls out.

C.C. POV:

I heard Appa call out to me. Bubba, and Grim. "Hm? Whaddaya want with me?" Grim asks after we walk over to the group. "Hi there." Bubba says. "Hi!" I say happily. "Ah, Lilia. Hello there." Riddle says as he walks over to us. "I see Riddle, Ace, and Jack are here as well." Appa observes. "Hey, Lilia!" Ace greets. "Yeah, hi—ugh." Jack grunts in disdain. "Hello, Jack!" Azul says. "Yo, Goldfishie. Looks like you're keepin' your head above water as usual." Floyd comments.

"Azul and Floyd are with you? I wouldn't have bothered to respond if I'd known that." Riddle says, annoyed. I walk over and hug him and he calms down a bit while Floyd jumps to jealousy.
