CHAPTER XXXIX

SUGURU PARKED IN THE UNDERGROUND PARKING LOT AND TOOK MY BAG OUT OF THE BOOT.

I looked at the ground in shame and walked next to him up to my dorm.

Suguru took my hand in his and held it tightly in order to comfort me somehow.

We arrived at my dorm and looked up at him with the little mental strength I had.

"Can I stay with you?" I felt embarrassed to ask.

"In my dorm? That's fine with me. If you really want we can stay at Satoru's house too. He's lent out a room to me." Suguru sounded happy with the arrangement.

"Sounds good. I'll meet you at your dorm in an hour?" I cracked a smile.

"Of course, love you." he kissed my forehead and left.

I exhaled before opening my shared dorm room to reveal Nobara sitting at her desk studying.

"Back home so early? Where's Yuji." she looked back at me with a grin.

"You sent him that fucking picture." I glared at her.

"What?" she seemed clueless, but behind that I could see her grin grow wider.

"Don't act stupid, you sent him that picture." I motioned towards her phone.

"And you were sleeping with his brother! I can't hide that from him." she defended herself.

"I thought you were on my side, Nobara." I shook my head in disbelief.

"I never said I was! I did what was right." she seemed proud about ruining my life.

"Well Yuji and I aren't friends anymore, he's probably going to tell everyone about this shit." I rolled my eyes and went towards my closet to find some clothes to pack in a bag.

"Well I mean you are in the wrong." she didn't look impressed with me.

"I know I am!" I snapped at her.

"What are you going to do now?" she stood behind me with her arms crossed.

"Why should I tell you?" I spat and continued packing.

"Are you staying in this dorm or not." she stood her ground and I sighed.

"No." my lip quivered as I held back a sob.

"You have a week to get out." she walked back to her desk.

"Noted." I nodded my head and kept packing.

A while passed and I arrived at Suguru's dorm with a hefty bag by my side and he opened the door to greet me happily.

He let me in and I sat on his bed, feeling fragile and vulnerable.

"I spoke to Satoru, he's happy with us staying there. We will head there tomorrow since he's on holiday with his family." he smiled and sat next to him.

"I thought you went on holiday with him recently?" I asked him.

"This is his second. He's going to Greece." Suguru chuckled and all I could think about was the lake house.

"Well, I'm happy we get to stay there." I rested my head against his shoulder.

"Are you ready to tell me what happened." he caressed my hand.

"I'll tell you another time." I finally felt somewhat at peace.
