CHAPTER XXII
———————————————————

THE CAR STOPPED, and as I looked out the window I was greeted by a beautiful lake and a cute cottage beside it.

The cottage had a dock extending from it, and a small boat floated in the water tied to the dock.

Choso got out of the car to speak to his mom, and after a few minutes of getting myself together, I left the car to find Yuji.

He leaned against the car looking at his phone, and once he noticed me being there, he put it away and faced me with a tired smile.

"How was your trip?" I asked him, but he didn't seem to have many words to describe it.

"I was pretty tired, so I fell asleep during all the yapping my mom did." he chuckled and I stood next to him against the car.

"And you? Do I have to publicly execute Choso yet?" he joked with me and I laughed along.

"He was fine, I also slept during the drive." I patted his shoulder and opened my phone.

I looked at my unread messages and suddenly remembered something important.

"I'll be back, I gotta call Suguru." I pressed the dial button and walked away with the phone against my ear.

"Say hello for me." he had an obvious grimace on his face, clearly displaying his jealousy.

"Hello, sweetheart. I was hoping to hear from you." Suguru sounded tired, which made his voice more attractive.

"Hello, handsome." I had a stupid smile on my face as soon as I heard his voice.

"You get there safe?" he asked and I chuckled at his concern for my well-being.

"Just arrived, it looks amazing here. I could totally see myself living here." I said with no shame, even though I could really see Choso and I living here.

"Maybe once we get married I'll buy us a house down there, then you'll be living your dream won't you?" he sounded genuine and it hurt my heart, knowing that I previously thought of another man instead of him.

"I'd like that..." I said back with a sad smile on my face, however, luckily he couldn't see my expression.

"Anyways, I'll leave you to it, gorgeous girl. Text me tonight," he spoke before I bid my goodbyes and hung up the phone.

I walked back to the cars feeling the same shame that Choso made me experience during the drive here.

Yuji was unpacking the cars with Choso, and so I ran to help them get the luggage in the house.

The interior of the house was comfy but also marine-inspired. The house truly felt like something out of a TV show.

A while passed, and I put my bags in the same room as Yuji, seeing that there wasn't another available room that I could be in by myself.

I settled in with my fate and lay down on the bed, letting out an exhausted sigh.

Yuji walked in and jumped next to me, doing the same thing I had previously done.

"You excited for this week?" he asked me with a smile and I nodded with anticipation.

EXCITED TO SEE WHAT I'LL DO
WITH YOUR BROTHER THIS WEEK.
