Chapter Fifteen

Standing next to Wanda and Clint made me feel somehow unstopable. I'm not really sure where the sudden confidence and drive to fight came from, maybe it's from the blast of adrenaline I suddenly had after seeing everyone fight beside me or maybe even the silly little comfort I felt to be battling these iron legions beside my treasured and new found friends, I'm not really sure but all I know is that I'm doing my best to keep up. Keep up with these incredible superheroes that are with me as my heart beat like crazy. Both the thrill of fighting and a hint of what I can only describe as fear -- fear of making one stupid mistake that would end all of humanity -- filled my heart with so much rush.

In the midst of all the chaos and the fighting, I somehow still found some time to glance at my friends. Pietro was using his inhuman speed, charging at the robots and trying to keep them away from the core. Wanda was using her red ball of what I can only describe as energy to rip iron legions to shreds, while Steve used his shield to deflect the incoming robots back onto the ground, using his super strength to kick them hard down.

Turning to the other side after blasting the heads of a few flying iron legions with my gun, I watch as Vision use his ability to rip the robots apart exactly from their insides. I involuntarily shuddered at the scene, mentally imagining an image of Vision being a villain and instead of robots, he was ripping us apart. I sure as hell feel a sense of newfound relief knowing that he luckily chose to side with us.

Clint, who was beside me, was firing arrow after arrow in various directions, expectedly never missing a single shot. Nat, who was just a few feet away shoved her electric baton, one that I've been trying to get from her, into one of the robots as she jammed the other baton to an incoming robot that came from the other side. You really don't want to make an enemy out of that woman.

Thor and Tony, on the other hand, were flying around us and making sure that the flying iron legions were immediately taken down. I also noticed how Tony kept stealing a glance at me, his eyes still full of concern and while I appreciate it, I also feel weary that he's not putting his full attention on fighting these damn robots that he may end up to be the one is a sticky situation.

Just when I was about to tell Tony off, we all heared the loud growl of Ultron. Never in my life did I ever imagine a freaking robot growl, but here we are now and nothing has ever been normal in my life anyway. Ultron then grabbed onto Vision and started fighting our newest ally. He tried to outbest Vision but all his efforts were put in vain when Vision used the power from the mind stone to force him out of the church. And without even a word, Tony and Thor joined Vision, using their energy and power to burn against Ultron's metal skull.

"You know, with the benefit of hindsight..." Ultron began but was kicked by the Hulk up in the air, making him fly backwards to God knows where. The remaining robots back away as Hulk roared at them, immediately running like a bunch of rats as the big guy charged at them.

"They will try to leave the city!" I announced, worried that the remaining iron legions will cause trouble outside the city instead as they try to escape. I clutch at my shoulder, wincing in pain from an injury I didn't even noticed I got from fighting. Why does it always have to be the damn shoulders?

"We can't let them leave, not even one," Tony confirmed. "Rhodey!"

"I'm on it!" Rhodey didn't even need more instructions from Tony as he immediately flew out to meet the robots that were trying to escape, Vision right behind him. Well that will be a good meet up for the both of them. I wonder how Rhodey will react seeing Vision?
