JANET'S POV

Earlier in the morning I did not know what to feel when Alpha's phone wasn't getting through. But I realize late in the evening, I also don't know what to feel after receiving his phone call.

"Oh my God, Emily is awake? We should go see her." I let Ariel lead me from the hospital's offices and to where my daughter is.

With how Ariel is practically running, I think the elevator ride is what delayed her.
Liam pushes the door open and walks in first. Ariel lets me follow then she and Moses last.

My eyes first zoom in on my daughter. She is awake. She is looking between me and everyone else but her eyes are open and gazing again.
Her eyes will be able to catch the next sunrise, the fall coming, and all sunsets that will be there.

On some occasions, raindrops will fall on her fully healed body.
God did it, you did it Father, you did it.

"Oh my God, you are awake. She is awake." Ariel sequels finally letting go of my hand and rushing to where Emily is. Her bed is rolled up in a sitting position so Ariel can throw herself on her.
My daughter winces because her friend must have touched her wound.

But Ariel of course isn't seeing it or caring, her shoulders shake and I know she is crying.

"You had me worried for you, Emily. I couldn't eat and sleep. You know the doctors were starting to warn me that if I didn't get it together I could have faced miscarriage. Why would you go on and worry me, all of us like that?"

"I'm sorry." Oh my God! It's my daughter's voice. She is really awake.
My God, thank you! Thank you so much.

We stand there as we let Emily and Ariel get their feelings out of their system but Liam isn't on the same page as them. Because not so long he crashes the party.

"I hate how you two sometimes want to act like a couple when we are a triple." Ariel finally moves aside.

"Emily, I was dying with you, sweetheart. Don't ever get shot again." Emily chuckles a little but by the face she makes. I know that must be hurting her too.

"Okay, I will not get shot again," Liam hugs her too and they too get an episode of crying.

When he moves aside it's Moses who shares. "I don't know why your mother is very chilly about this, but I'm deeply glad, deeply grateful that you are awake Emily."

"Me too," Her gaze turns to Alpha, who smiles at her lovingly.
And I don't miss it.

I arch my brows suspiciously.
What is happening over here?

EMILY'S POV

Oh my God, I can't believe I was stolen the chance of this, my family and friends.
Thinking of that, makes me cry over Moses's shoulder. He feels it and starts caressing my back.

"We are here for you, Emily. All of us." That makes me cry more.
I know they are here. But someone was going to snatch me away from them. Oh my God!

That laugh, that joke, that argument all of that that happened would have been the last. Jesus, we sure lead a fragile life.
One moment we could be here and the next, God knows where.

"Stay strong," When we pull back he kisses my cheek and I offer him a smile. I turn to look at my mother feeling eager to hug her too.
To feel the warm motherly hug that always makes me feel like nothing could ever go.

That hug that showed and given me a little glimpse of lightness in the midst of darkness.
That hug that comforted me and warmed me when everything else was cold and falling apart.
