Three Months Later

"Okay. Can we hurry this up? I have to go say goodbye to the Byers," I complained, bouncing my legs up and down.

"We just have to drop these off and then I'll drive you to the Byers," Steve replied, pulling into the Arcade parking lot and putting hi scar in park in front of Family Video.

"Wait. You put your mom down as a reference?" Robin asked, opening the passenger's door and shutting it. Over the last three months, the three of us had become much closer friends and we were practically inseparable.

I got out, and leaned on the car. "Yeah. Why not? She's like, super well-respected," Steve answered, grabbing his keys.

I walked in with them, and they both headed to the counter. Keith was standing behind the counter eating like usual. He looked up at us, and Robin set her resume down in front of him. Steve mimicked her actions and I stood next to Steve.

"Just to be clear, we weren't fired, you know. The mall burned down and like, killed a bunch of people," Robin annoucned, even though everyone knew about it.

"Thanks for sharing. Didn't know," Keith groaned, before snapping his fingers at Robin. "Three favorite movies. Go,"

"Uh... The Apartment, Hidden Fortress, Children of Paradise,"

"You go,"

Keith snapped at Steve and it surprised him a bit. "Favorite movies?"

"Did I stutter?"

"Uh... Animal House, for sure.... Um..." Steve stuttered, looking around at the store trying to find movies. We had watched movies, but Steve always dozed off and forgot the names.

"Eyes on me Harrington,"

"Yeah, uh... Star Wars,"

"A New Hope?"

"A new what-now?" Steve asked, leaning forward on the counter.

I could see the disappointment spread across Keith's face. He tried to hold it back, but it was useless. I could see right through him. "Which Star Wars?"

"The one with the teddy bears. Duh,"

Steve did his best impression of an Ewok, and I snorted. I glanced at Robin and she spun her finger around her ear. She dropped her head and I lightly punched Steve on the arm.

"What? No? Oh, the one that just came out. The movie that just came. The one with the DeLorean and Alex P. Keaton, and he's trying to bang his mom," Steve laughed, making Keith's mouth drop open. "The time... Yeah, those are my top three. Classics,"

"You start Monday. You start never," Steve looked at me, and sighed.

"Steve. Will you give us a minute?" I asked. He glared at me like I had just killed someone. He grabbed his resume and jerked it off the desk aggressively. He walked off, leaving me and Robin to talk to Keith. "All right. You have to understand, Keith. I know his taste is a bit pedestrian, but Sunglasses has other qualities," I uttered, hoping Steve wouldn't hear.

"He's a douchebag of the highest order Avery,

"Okay. Listen. He was a bit of a prick to us back in high school, I'll grant you that, but he remains a total chick magnet even though he's dating Avery," Robin shot back.

"Yeah, okay? And this is relevant to me how?"

"Uh. Keith. Half the girls that come here don't know that Steve is taken. The ladies will come in just to see him. They'll come in droves," I spoke up.
