(super long chap...)
Thursday July 4th , 1985
Robin knelt down next to me and began undoing the belts. Once I was free Robin helped support me and the five of us began walking. Dustin was helping Steve and Erica was leading the way. They were leading us towards some sort of car. Robin opened the back door, and pushed Steve and me inside.
"No. No, stop moving Steve!"
Steve cupped my face and patted the top of my head. I swatted him away and he just laughed, which made me laugh again. Robin, Dustin and Erica climbed into the front seat and the cart began to move. I fell against the wall and Steve's foot went flying in font of my face.
"Sunglasses!"
"Slow down Henderson!" Steve shouted.
"Yeah, what is this, like the Indy 500?" I asked.
"It's the Indy 300," Steve corrected, pointing his finger at the ground.
"No, Sunglasses, it's 500!" I snapped.
"It's 300!" Steve shot back holding three fingers up. But that wasn't 300.
"Let's say a million!" I suggested. Steve and I burst into laughter and I fell into his lap. He put his arms around me and I slipped my through his to grab his face.
"No. No, no, not the face," he slurred.
"Why? Is it tender?"
"Maybe... Yes, it's tender! Your mom beat the shit of me!" Steve laughed.
"She's not my mom! My mom's in New York! Mariane's just some bitch!" I snapped back.
"Not some bitch! She's Russian!"
I started laughing and Steve rubbed my head in a weird way so I pulled at his hair. I threw my back and stared at Steve's bloody chin. Steve then dropped his head and we both stared into each other's eyes. We both went silent and then Steve touched my nose.
"Steve....!"
"What...?"
Steve stuck his finger into my ear and I grabbed his wrist and pulled it away. "That hurt! Did you lick your finger?"
"I don't know. I forgot,"
"What? That was like two seconds ago,"
"I don't know. I don't know? I don't know!"
Steve started laughing and I bit my lip. My ear was ringing and the alarm was making it worse. There was some talking from Robin, Dustin and Erica right before the cart slammed into something. Steve and I groaned, and Dustin spoke up.
"You guys all right back there?"
"What sound it look like genius?" I asked. They went silent and then the door opened. Robin, Dustin and Erica all stared at us, waited.
"Come on. We gotta go, now," Dustin instructed.
"Come on! Get out!" Erica snapped.
"Let's go!"
"Stop yelling!" I shouted as I grabbed Robin's hand.
She helped me out and Steve tumbled to the ground. I felt like my knees were buckling, but Robin helped me stand up. Steve and I practically were dragged into the elevator. I fell against the wall and Steve fell onto a moving platform. He immediately stood up and I grabbed the handle.
"Hey! You look like you're...!" I shouted.
"Surfing! Yeah!" Steve finished. We were both laughing and the elevator kept going up. "I'm a natural! Check it out!" Steve laughed, right before I jerked the platform out from under him.
