Lisa Manoban walked into the lecture hall, her backpack slung over her shoulder. She was wearing her favorite black jeans and a white graphic t-shirt, her long hair tied up in a ponytail. She had a bright smile on her face, ready to tackle another day of classes. As she scanned the room for her friends, her eyes landed on Rosé and Jisoo in the front row. They were both typing away on their laptops, their faces lit up by the screens. Lisa made her way towards them, her sneakers squeaking on the floor.
"Hey, girls! What's up?" Lisa asked, plopping down in the empty seat beside them. She dropped her backpack on the floor and pulled out her own laptop, ready to take notes.
Rosé turned around, her eyes sparkling. "Just discussing our plans for the weekend. Want to join us for a movie night?"
"Sounds like fun!" Lisa replied, pulling out her phone to check her schedule. She had a few assignments due soon, but she was sure she could squeeze in some time for a movie.
As the professor began to lecture, Lisa tried to focus. She took notes and asked questions, participating in the class discussion. But her mind kept wandering. She couldn't help but notice Jennie and Kai sitting across the room, their heads bent together in conversation.
Kai was leaning in close, his eyes fixed on her face. They looked like they were in their own little world, oblivious to the rest of the class.
Lisa felt a pang of curiosity. What were they talking about? Were they dating? She pushed the thought aside, focusing on her notes. But she couldn't help sneaking glances at the couple throughout the lecture.
When the class ended, Lisa packed up her things and followed her friends out of the hall. They walked across campus, chatting and laughing, enjoying the warm sun on their faces.
As they walked across campus, Lisa and her friends decided to grab some coffee before their next class. They headed to the student union building, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air.
"I need a caffeine boost," Rosé said, yawning. "I didn't get much sleep last night."
"Me neither," Jisoo replied. "I was up all night studying for our exam."
Lisa nodded sympathetically. "I know the feeling. But coffee will help, right?"
They joined the line at the coffee shop, chatting and laughing as they waited. When it was their turn, Lisa ordered a latte, while Rosé and Jisoo go for cappuccinos.
As they sipped their coffee, Lisa noticed Jennie and Kai sitting in the corner, holding hands and gazing into each other's eyes. Lisa felt a pang of surprise. She hadn't realized they were so serious.
"Hey, look over there," Lisa whispered to her friends, nodding towards the couple. "Jennie and Kai are officially a thing!"
Rosé's eyes widened. "No way!"
Jisoo grinned mischievously. "Well, well, well. Look's like someone's got a secret."
Lisa smiled, happy for her friend. But a tiny part of her felt left out, like she was losing her partner in crime.
As they finished their coffee, Jennie and Kai got up from their table, hand in hand. They walked over to Lisa and her friends, beaming with happiness. Jennie's eyes sparkled like diamonds, and her smile could light up a room. Kai, on the other hand, looked like his usual charming self, but with a hint of seriousness in his eyes.
"Hey, guys! We have an announcement to make," Jennie said, her voice trembling with excitement.
"What is it?" Lisa asked, her curiosity piqued. She could tell something was up, but she hadn't expected this.
Jennie took a deep breath. "Kai and I are officially dating! And we're so happy!" She gazed up at Kai, who smiled down at her adoringly.
Rosé and Jisoo exchanged skeptical glances. "Kai, you're a playboy," Rosé said, raising an eyebrow. "Are you sure you're ready for a serious relationship?" She sipped her coffee, her eyes fixed on Kai.
Kai grinned, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Hey, I can change my ways. Jennie's the one for me." He squeezed Jennie's hand, and she blushed.
Jisoo raised an eyebrow. "We'll see about that." She turned to Jennie. "Are you sure you know what you're getting yourself into?"
Jennie nodded, her eyes shining with conviction. "I know Kai's reputation, but I believe in him. He's changed, and I know he'll make me happy."
Lisa smiled, happy for her friend, but also concerned. She knew Kai's reputation, and she didn't want Jennie to get hurt. But she also trusted Jennie's judgment, and she knew her friend could take care of herself.
