Nya's birthday and Kai's past?

Kai pov

Me, Lloyd and Cole were walking to the store to get some decorations for Nya’s birthday. ‘Soooo why are we going to the store didn’t we get all the groceries for this week yesterday?’ Cole asked his boyfriend.
‘Well tomorrow is Nya’s birthday so I wanted to get a few things for her as well as decorations.’ Kai said while looking at his boyfriend. ‘Wait it is Nya’s birthday tomorrow!! Damn I didn't know, now I feel bad.’ Cole said feeling a bit guilty not realizing it was Nya’s birthday tomorrow.
‘ Don’t worry about it Cole, she never told you her birthday in the first place so how could you have known and besides we are going to the store right now so if you want to get something for her you can it’s not too late.’ Kai said while smiling at his lover and kissing him on the cheek.
This made Lloyd gag ‘eeww romance’ he said as the little kid he is. ‘When you are older you will do the same Lloyd’ Kai commented at Lloyds reaction. This made them all giggle and soon they arrived at the store.
‘Sooo, what should I get Nya for her birthday?’ Cole asked his boyfriend. Kai thought for a bit and said: ‘How about a new dagger.
I think she would like that since she has been experimenting with her fighting style? Maybe that could help her with her close combat, since she used a spear it could help her in close combat?’ Kai suggested. ‘That’s a good idea, thanks Kai!’ Cole said with a smile.
This makes Kai smile back at him. Cole then went a different way with Lloyd to find a present for Lloyd to give and to get his present for Nya. Kai just did his shopping for decorations and a gift he prepared in advance he just had to pick it up.
Later when they all reunited and had all the stuff they needed.
‘So do we have everything?’ Kai asked as they were walking together. ‘Yep, we got everything, how about you Kai?’ Lloyd asked Kai.
‘Yup I got everything little bro let’s go home then shall we?’ Kai said, motioning for them to go home. ‘Yes we shall.’ Cole answered as he intertwined his hand with Kai’s as they were now walking home enjoying the moment between them.

While they were walking

‘Cole?’ Lloyd said, trying to get Cole to notice him. ‘Yes Lloyd is there something wrong?’ Cole asked the child. ‘Could you carry me, my feet are tired?’ Lloyd asked with puppy eyes.
‘Alright, no need for puppy eyes.’ Cole said as he picked up the boy and placed him on his back. ‘Better?’ Cole asked Lloyd. ‘Yep!’ Lloyd said in return. Kai just watched this all happen and smiled.
‘You would be a great dad one day Cole’ Kai said to his lover while looking at him with love eyes. ‘Thanks babe, yeah I hope one day I can be one even if we just adopt but i want to have a family with you one day a family of our own.’ Cole said while looking at Kai. Lloyd by now has already fallen asleep on Cole’s back.
‘Really you would want to start a family with me one day?’ Kai asked Cole in shock of what he just heard feeling a little happy but also sad.
Sad because he feels bad for all the secrets he has been keeping from him, his past, his powers, everything. He feels like he doesn’t deserve to start a family.
He feels as if Cole is waayyy too good for him and should find someone else that is not him to start a family with. But then again he does want to start a family with him and forget all about his past and focus on the future and the ones he loves.
‘-i, -ai, Kai!’ Cole said his name, taking him out of his thoughts and back to reality. ‘Are you okay Kai you zoned out after what I told you?’ Cole asked Kai with concern in his voice. ‘Yeah I think I will be fine.
Can we talk about it later though I think we should discuss this in private?’ Kai asked with a fake smile only Cole could see though.
Cole sighed ‘Okay if that is what you want but we better talk about it I don’t want anything bad to happen between us because of this okay?’ Cole said with desperation in his voice. ‘Okay fine.’ Kai said with a sigh.

When they arrive back at the monastery

Cole put Lloyd to bed since it was late. The others were in the living room either playing video games or talking with each other. except for Kai, Kai was waiting in his room for Cole to arrive.
During the walk home he realized he had to tell Cole at least about his past. Kai felt bad keeping it from him while they are dating, and also about his feelings about having a family together.
Soon there was a knock at the door. Kai opened the door to see Cole standing there. ‘Can I come in?’ Cole asked to which Kai nodded and stepped to the side.
‘Soo want to talk about what that was during our walk home from the store? Why did you suddenly go quiet don’t you want to start a family with me one day? Do you dislike me now? What is going on??’Cole questioned Kai wanting answers.
‘Cole I do want to one day start a family with you, it's just- just-’ Kai said as he started tearing up. ‘Take it easy, tell me whenever you are ready.’ Cole said, comforting his love.
Kai took a deep breath and looked at Cole while tears streamed down his face.
‘I just don’t feel like I deserve it. Like I don't deserve to be with you, have a family with you. I just feel like with everything that has happened to me in my past you would hate me and I don’t want that but at the same time you deserve to know.’ Kai said now slightly hyperventilating.
‘Kai breath you are going to give yourself a panic attack if you continue!’ Cole raised his voice a little so Kai would hear him. Kai then took a deep breath and calmed down. ‘Are you okay now?’ Cole asked to which Kai nodded.
‘okay, that is good. So what I got from this is that you are scared of the past and scared I won't love you anymore once I know about it?’ Cole said and Kai nodded looking away. Cole took Kai’s face and made Kai look at him.
‘Kai I will never stop loving you since the day we first saw each other. I had this sort of feeling that I can't love anyone else the same way I love you ever.
So don’t go saying stuff like that. And about your past I don't care as long as you are with me I don’t care all I need is you Kai.’ Cole said while looking Kai in the eyes. Kai cried more from these sad tears, happy tears knowing he felt the exact same way when they first met. ‘So you had the same feeling I did when we first met?’ Kai mumbled to himself but Cole heard it.
‘Yeah I guess I did firefly it felt like you were the missing puzzle piece in my life. Like I won’t be complete without you.’ Cole said.
‘Yes! That is exactly how I felt too.’ Kai exclaimed. ‘ It is like we are each other's soulmate or something.’ Cole said while looking at Kai.
‘Yeah.’ Kai answers as they lean in closer to each other. Soon they’re lips touched and they were now kissing.
