The underwater mission part 1

The next day

Today was the day they would go and get the third fangblade. The ninja were nervous since it was an underwater mission which they had never done before. Kai was the most nervous since he could not swim he could not go and help them if something were to go wrong. Crya was also going with them on this mission. Ever since the mission to get her parents back, they found out that she was the elemental master of fire. She got this from her dad since
He was the previous master of fire, and she has been learning about her powers since she was a child.

Maya, being the previous master of water, also started teaching Nya about her powers and how to use them. Nya was glad that her mom was there to help her since she was not yet fully able to control her powers yet and the little tips she gave her helped her out a lot. And Kai? He avoided them as much as possible.

But it didn’t always work. When they managed to get Kai alone they started beating him for not looking after his sister enough and how he was a failure to them, and all those kinds of things. At least they didn’t hit him in his stomach, like they used to do when he was little and cried to them about how hungry he was to “make it stop” or to “give him something to cry about”. yeah they were that type of parent to him.

And when he saw how Crya and Nya were treated by them he couldn't help but feel envious of them. How he wanted to have that kind of childhood. Or at least parents who would be there for him and not hit him when he felt sad. Not like he doesn’t have those parents he knows it all too well but, he doesn’t know them really that well he only met them in his “dream”? He just wants to be with loving parents and experience the love only parents can give a child. You know?

Anyway! It was now time to start the mission. The ninja, Wu and Garmadon were getting ready in their rooms. Kai was with Cole, because why wouldn’t he? ‘So it’s finally time huh.’ Kai said while looking at Cole, kind of nervous. ‘Yeah it is. Are you sure you will be alright here alone with Maya and Ray?’ Cole asked Kai, knowing he did not want to leave them alone because of their past and also because Cole has this strange urge to protect Kai more than usual.

‘Yeah… I think I will be fine?’ Kai said, kind of unsure. ‘Alright I’ll believe you for now, But if something happens tell me immediately. don’t hesitate, okay I will be there as soon as I can. I will always protect you, my little firefly.’ Cole said very sweetly. Kai looked at him and gave him a kiss on the lips. ‘Okay I will my rocky.’ Kai said. Cole wanted to go in for another Kiss, but was interrupted by a knock on the door.

‘Cole are you ready it is almost time to go!’ Jay said as he opened the door and looked at Cole. ‘Yeah I’m ready let’s go and do this!’ Cole said and the 3 of them started walking to the bridge where they would get the last run down about the mission. ‘Okay so the fangblade should be around this era.’ Kai said as he pointed to an area in the map. ‘This is not going to be an easy mission.

While you dive to the place you might encounter some dangerous underwater creatures. Also there are a lot of small underwater volcanoes so be careful and try not to get hurt.’ Kai said as everyone was now ready to go. The ninja soon left after saying goodbye to everyone. Now it was only Kai, Maya, Ray and Lloyd on the ship. Kai left the others with Lloyd and went to his room. Since he did not trust his ‘parents’ near Lloyd.

In Kai’s room they played some video games until Lloyd fell asleep, so Kai put him on the bed and left the room to go to the bridge to check on the ninja. ‘How is everything going guys?’ Kai asked the ninja. ‘We’re almost there, we can see it.’ Zane said. ‘Yeah we can see it but I have this strange feeling about it?’ Cole said to confirm. ‘What is strange about it?’ Kai asked, a bit nervous.

‘I don't know, it just feels like something is wrong and I can't put my finger on it.’ Cole answered. ‘Okay if anything happens, call me immediately, promise?’ Kai said to his lover, scared of what might happen. ‘Of Course, I promise Kai.’ Cole answered. ‘Look we're here!’ Jay shouted. Kai looked at the screen showing the location of the ninja and copied it so he knew where it was, and for the future if they ever need to come back.

‘Woah…’ Kai heard from the radio the ninja had entered the volcano and was in awe of how it looked. It was as if there was a temple inside the volcano. The ninja kept looking around in awe and to find the fangblade. ‘Uhm guys look over there!!!’ Nys shouted and everyone looked at where she was pointing. ‘SWIMMM, WE NEED TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW-!!!’ Garmadon shouted.

…. Silence followed after. ‘GUYS!!! GUYS CAN YOU HEAR ME COME IN!!!’ Kai shouted but there was no reply. ‘No, please answer.’ Kai pleaded but nothing. At this moment Kai really wished he learned how to swim. So he could go and help them, so he could have gone with them…. And be there with them so that he knew what was going on.

After hearing Kai scream, Maya and Ray went to the bridge to look at what Kai was shouting about. ‘What’s going on here?!’ Maya said in a not so friendly tone. ‘T-The ninja I-I lost contact with them. They are in danger.’ Kai said, stuttering, still afraid of his so-called “mother”. ‘What my baby's NOO!!’ she screamed and pushed Kai to the side, and he lost his balance and fell to the ground.

Maya tried her best to get in contact with the ninja but just like with Kai nothing worked. ‘This is all your fault!’ Maya shouted at Kai who had by now stood up, and slapped him in the face. ‘Why did you have to expose my baby's to something so dangerous! YOU YOU DISGRACE, MISTAKE!!! THIS IS THE EXACT REASON YOU DON'T HAVE ANY PARENTS BECAUSE NO ONE WILL EVER LOVE YOU!!!’ Maya shouted at Kai while hitting him. Kai laid on the floor protecting his stomach from the punches and kicking Maya and Ray did.

After a bit Maya and Ray cooled down and left the room. Kai was now on his own. He cried, he really cried. After everything that Maya and Ray had done he would never cry but with his hormones from his pregnancy and with what they had said, he just felt like a failure, like he couldn't do anything right.

He slowly got up and went to his room hoping Lloyd was still asleep. He was, and Kai just laid down next to him and cuddled him, scared for the ninja, scared of Maya and Ray and scared that he would lose his lover. He cried himself to sleep that night hoping to not wake up again.
