Kunj's eyes fluttered open, blinking away the remnants of his nap. A jolt of surprise shot through him as he realized he wasn't alone. He was tangled in someone's arms, a warm weight anchoring him to the bed.
But the surprise quickly curdled into annoyance. It was Abhimanyu, fast asleep, his arms wrapped possessively around Kunj's waist.
The worry of the past few days bubbled up, spilling over into anger.
With a swift kick, Kunj dislodged him. Abhimanyu yelped in surprise, rubbing his bum with a grimace. "Ouch! Kyu mara muje?"
"Kyu mara?" Kunj mimicked, his voice laced with irritation. "Tumne apna phone Dekha hai kitne call kiye Maine aur tum!!!!!! tumhe call karne mein jaan nikal rahi thi tumhari ...batao muje !"
Understanding dawned on Abhimanyu's face. He knew this was coming. "Kunj, I'm so sorry," he started, his voice sincere. "I needed some time…"
Kunj cut him off, his frustration reaching a boiling point. "Sorry? That's all you have to say? Abhimanyu, Do you think my life is like a local train you can just hop on and off whenever you please!!!!!!What am I supposed to think? Did something happen to you, are you not well yafir Dubara muje mujhse dur chale gye!!!! Fir badal gya tumhara mann?"
His words lashed at Abhimanyu, each sentence a stinging reminder of the pain of their past. He looked like a scolded puppy, his shoulders slumped in defeat.
"No, no, nothing like that," he stammered, dodging Kunj's gaze. "I just… I needed some space to clear my head."
Kunj scoffed. "Space? Abhimanyu, I was worried sick! You could have at least sent a message, anything!"
The room became a battlefield of pillows and apologies. Abhimanyu, in a desperate attempt to appease Kunj, dodged flying pillows and muttered pleas for forgiveness. Finally, after a good five minutes of playful (and slightly aggressive) pillow fighting, Kunj stopped, his breath ragged.
Abhimanyu seized the opportunity, pulling Kunj into a tight embrace. Kunj initially resisted, but the warmth of Abhimanyu's body, the familiar scent that sent shivers down his spine, quickly melted his resolve. He buried his face in Abhimanyu's shoulder, the unspoken words of forgiveness hanging heavy in the air.
"Look, Kunj," Abhimanyu whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I messed up. Big time. But please believe me, I never meant to hurt you. I just… I was scared."
"I missed you," Kunj mumbled, his voice muffled.
Abhimanyu squeezed him tighter. "I missed you too, Kunj. More than words can say. I messed up, I know that. But please, believe me when I say I'll never do anything like that again."
Kunj remained silent for a moment, his heart caught in a tug-of-war between anger and affection. Finally, he spoke, his voice laced with a hint of forgiveness.
"Alright," Kunj finally sighed, the tension easing from his shoulders. "I forgive you… this time. But on one condition."
Abhimanyu pulled back, a hopeful glint in his eyes. "Anything," he breathed.
"No more disappearing acts," Kunj declared, a playful glint mirroring Abhimanyu's. " Mr. Raizada. Promise me you'll talk to me, no matter what."
Abhimanyu grinned, the familiar spark returning to his eyes. "Promise," he said, sealing it with a kiss on Kunj's forehead. "Now, how about we grab some dinner and you let me explain the whole mess?"
Kunj chuckled, a wave of relief washing over him. As they walked out of the room, hand in hand, the city lights twinkling outside seemed to echo
the promise of a new beginning, a future where communication and trust would pave the way for their love.
