Aria's pov:
I was driving Mike to school for his lacrosse tryouts, I never understood why he loved lacrosse it's just a bunch of running around with a large stick in your hand. But at least his hobby was something physical and not knitting his panic attacks away like me.
We arrived at the school for the first time in forever; we had just arrived from Iceland that day and after a whole year of being overseas, you forget what your normal life is like. Mike slammed the car door shut and jogged through the old school gates. I had to pick him up in an hour so I thought there would be no point in going home, so I headed to the rosewood public library to buy some new books and hand in my year overdue book...
The library had changed a lot since the last time I was there, the vines that hung from the roof had grown more, the shelves had moved around and they had a new section that was full of computers instead of that old one that could hardly function that was stored in the corner on an old, wobbly desk. I walked to the classics section of the library, I was looking for the virgin suicides by Jeffery Eugenides, the bell jar by Sylvia Plath and Wuthering heights by Emily Brontë.
I found Wuthering heights, but of course it was at the top of the very tall shelves and me being 5,1 I couldn't even reach the third shelf let alone the fourth, but me being me I was too embarrassed to ask someone who worked there for help so I was practically jumping for the book. Until a man leaned over me, grabbed it and handed it to me.
Ezra's pov:
I saw this girl in the corner of my eye, she had long, black, wavy hair and the most perfect side profile, she was reaching for a book on the top shelf. I'm not really sure why she even bothered trying anyway because she was clearly too short to reach but it was cute how she was jumping for this book. I couldn't just stand there watching her struggling to reach it so I walked over and grabbed it for her.
"Wuthering heights, great taste you have there." I say smiling at her.
She was even more beautiful from the front, she had these gorgeous, hazel, doe eyes and this small, button nose. I never believed in love at first sight, but god I understood then, this girl was breathtaking.
"Thanks!" She smiled with her straight, white teeth and staring up at me. "I'm Aria."
"Ezra." I say trying to act nonchalant.
"You haven't happened to have seen the bell jar or the virgin suicides, have you?" She questioned.
"Uhh, I don't think so I can help you look if you like?
"I'd like that."
Aria's pov:
I was walking with Ezra for a while, he towered over me and had huge, veiny arms. I had fallen for him and we had only just met. He had brown, curly hair and these cute, black-rimmed glasses. We talked for a while and it turns out we both met the same guy in Reykjavik, who only talked about his 8 cats and seemed as if he lived at the bar. Eventually, Ezra found the bell jar on the top shelf in the animal section, he reached over me and grabbed the book, I looked at him innocently, while he had his arm leaned on the book shelf.
He leaned down and kissed me and I kissed him back. It sounds crazy but it felt like I had known him my whole life. He tasted like scotch, and I loved it, we began to slow down and we pulled apart. For a few moments, we awkwardly stared at each other until he broke the ice.
"The library can be a bit unorganised sometimes." He said while he hands me the book and rubbing the back of his neck.
"I can see that." I said while giggling and looking down at the book.
I looked up at the clock that hung above the librarians desk.
"Shit! My brother's tryouts finished 5 minutes ago!" I exclaimed while I was hurriedly shoving my new books in my bag.
"It was nice meeting you, Ezra!" I said while I was already halfway through the door.
