I will begin this review by stating that I am not a fan of Star Wars; I only watched The Mandalorian for Grogu. Most of what I know about this series I learned from my husband.
Despite this, I really enjoyed Kyra; she is a very intelligent and strong female character, which she demonstrated later in the chapter I read. She fights alongside men and is unafraid of anything life throws at her.
She is also very self-aware and honest with herself. Despite having only read one chapter, I can tell that this character has a lot of courage to accomplish whatever she wants.
If I am not mistaken, I noticed between the lines that she has some maternal instinct (referring to The Child). The author managed to create a strong woman who is also sensible.

When I saw the Evanescence lyrics, I knew this chapter was going to be an emotional roller coaster. I initially assumed that the characters had broken up, but it was more than that. This chapter had a huge impact on me because I am constantly thinking about what I would do if my husband died. I believe this chapter is heartbreaking from three perspectives:
⋆ Firstly, the main character experiences the loss of a loved one.
⋆ Secondly, Lyla was suffering from being cheated on.
⋆ Thirdly, I believe Carter may have also suffered.
Back to Brian, I truly believed he was going to commit suicide. I am happy he didn't.
