CHAPTER 6

Upon arriving home, I realized that Travis had not come to see me at the hospital. I let out a disappointed sigh, realizing that I had assumed he cared about me, but in reality, he didn't show any care for me.

"Nagugutom kaba ma'am ava?" Manang Karla suddenly asked.

"Nope manang, pagod lang ako magpapahinga muna ako sa taas" I responded and then made my way to the room to rest because I was extremely exhausted. I felt like my entire body could give in at any moment.

I dozed off and was awakened by the feeling of someone touching my face. Upon opening my eyes, I found Travis standing before me, looking weary with eyes filled with emotion.

"Travis? Is that you?" I asked.

"Yes baby, are you okay?" He asked.

When I heard those words from him, it felt like medicine to my ears. I was mistaken; he does care about me.

Tumayo ako atska hinawakan ang magkabila niyang pisngi, matagal ko siya tinitigan sa mga mata bago magsalita.

"Saan ka galing?? Anong nangyari sa mga lalaki kumidnap saakin? Bakit ngayon ka lang?? Alam mo bang nag-aalala ako saiyo." I kept asking him repeatedly. I was very scared, and I couldn't deny that I was worried about him.

He embraced me and gently stroked my hair to help me relax.

"Shhh, relax baby hmm?? I'm okay, You don't have to worry about me." He said.

I burst into tears unexpectedly when he hugged me tightly. I continued to lightly punch his chest to release my emotions, and he simply accepted my punches.

" How can I not worry about you when you suddenly disappear after that incident" I said while looking at his eyes.

"I just need to take care of some matters." He said.

"Ano 'yon?" I asked with a tone of curiosity.

"It's best if you don't find out." He said.

"No, Travis, I must find out what happened. What did you do to the guy who kidnapped me?" I said.

" I killed them" He said without hesitation.

I paused briefly when I heard what he said to me.

Tama ba ang narinig ko, pinatay niya ang mga lalaki iyon?

Umiling iling ako dahil hindi ako makapaniwala sa sinabi niya, umatras ako palayo sakaniya dahil Hindi ko parin lubusan maisip ang sinabi niya saakin, natatakot na ako sa lalaki ka harap ko.

"This is why you shouldn't know, you'll just become afraid of me." He said when he noticed I distance myself to him.

"Pero dapat hindi mo ginawa iyon" I said in fear.

"What's wrong with that? I only killed the man who hurt you." He said then touched my face.

"Are you still aware of what you're saying?" I said, then took his hand away from my face.

"If I don't deal with them, they will harm you. Do you think I would allow that to happen, Ava?" He said.

"You should call the police, Travis." I said.

"The police? Those incompetent cops? Do you believe they can catch them? The cops you look up to are the ones who will deceive you. Oh, Ava, you are unaware of the harsh reality." He said.

"No travis, you don't like cops because you're a criminal." I said and then gazed into his eyes.

"I can become a criminal, Ava, if anyone hurts you. Keep that in your mind." He said before leaving me in the room.

Ang lalaki iyon, napaka demonyo talaga ng ugali.

Ano nga ba talaga klaseng tao si Travis?? Bakit ang dali lang sakan'ya pumatay na para bang laro lang ito.

Hindi siya natatakot sa batas, wala siyang kinakatakutan. Kahit sino ay kaya niyang banggain.

Hindi ko na siya maintindihan pero mas hindi ko maintindihan ang sarili ko dahil natutuwa ako kapag nandiyan siya at prinoprotektahan ako.

Sa tingin ko kailangan kong magpacheck-up, mukha nahahawa na ako sa kabaliwan ng lalaki iyon.

When he's with me, he makes my heart race, and I miss him when he's not around.

I think I'm starting to like him.
