Lin Yu woke feeling refreshed, the memory of the previous night's strange dreams lingering in his mind. The room was filled with the soft glow of early morning light. He stretched and sat up, noticing that Xu Wei was not there.
Curious, he got up and went outside. There, bathed in the golden morning light, stood Xu Wei. He looked ethereal, his tall, lean but muscular figure outlined against the dawn. Lin Yu's heart skipped a beat as he watched Xu Wei, his admiration for his fellow cultivator deepening.
He approached quietly. "Did you sleep well?" Lin Yu asked, his voice gentle.
Xu Wei turned, a small smile playing on his lips. "Yes, I did. And you?"
Lin Yu nodded. "Very well, thank you." As Xu Wei's gaze lingered on Lin Yu, he was once again reminded of the previous night's emotions and desires. The memory made his heart quicken, but he kept his composure.
"Shall we go?" Xu Wei asked, his tone a mixture of warmth and formality.
Lin Yu agreed, and they moved to bid farewell to the villagers. The villagers, still filled with gratitude, gathered to see them off.
"Thank you for everything," the village headman said, bowing deeply. "We owe you our lives."
Lin Yu smiled. "Your gratitude is more than enough. Take care of each other."
As they prepared to leave, Xu Wei and Lin Yu did one final check of the surrounding area, ensuring there were no remaining threats. Satisfied, they set off back to the sect.
The journey was peaceful, and by midday, they reached the Blue Moon Sect. They immediately sought out the sect elders to report their findings.
Elder Zhou listened intently as they described the cave and the incident. His expression grew serious, and he muttered to himself, "Mhh, similar... but he was dealt with back then."
Lin Yu and Xu Wei exchanged a glance, unsure of what the elder's words meant. Before they could ask, Elder Zhou praised them. "You both did well. This information is crucial. For now, take some rest. You deserve it."
Xu Wei nodded and turned to Lin Yu. "Come on, you need to rest."
As they walked to their chambers, an unspoken tension hung in the air. When they reached Lin Yu's room, Xu Wei paused, his gaze lingering on Lin Yu. "If you need anything, just let me know," Xu Wei said softly, his eyes holding a depth of emotion that made Lin Yu's heart flutter.
"Thank you, Xu Wei," Lin Yu replied, his voice equally soft.
Xu Wei's hand lightly brushed Lin Yu's hair, a gesture filled with unspoken affection. "Rest well, Lin Yu."
Lin Yu watched Xu Wei walk away, feeling a mixture of gratitude and something deeper, something that he couldn't quite name. He closed the door and leaned against it, his mind racing with thoughts of Xu Wei.
As he settled down to rest, Lin Yu couldn't shake the feeling that their bond was growing stronger. (Damn I think it is slow but ahhh I want to develop it slowly, my mind saying let them 🥰😘😘😘😘)
